GREAT NEWS!!!

The Cabrillo Human Services Program has been accredited by CCAPP!!

This is a huge moment for the program as accreditation means that the Drug and Alcohol Certificate of Achievement meets the educational requirements for certification, strengthening the pathway for students pursuing careers as state-certified drug and alcohol counselors.

Hi Everyone!
I received this from CCAPP and want those of you who are in the AOD field (Students Included!) to know about it.

So hey, everyone: I have BIG NEWS!!!

After 26 years at Cabrillo I will be retiring at the end of this year.

It's been quite a ride. I started teaching the Applied Psychology Classes (Relationships, Death and Dying and Values and decision Making) filling in for Lynne Despelder when she went on sabbatical. But then I got hooked.

I created the first two courses, HSERV 50 and 51 the following summer through an institute. What later followed were years of developing curriculum for each of the classes we now have for both General Human Services and for Drug and Alcohol Counseling.

It has been such an honor to get to know all of you and to witness the incredible growth and development each and every one of you have made. But that's not all--YOU have made such a difference helping others and supporting health and wellness in our community.

Thank you.

It was a nice opportunity to network and celebrate with many of the movers and shakers in the Health and Human Services Programs in Santa Cruz County.
Congratulations Health Improvement Partnership!
