I’ve had a lot of pain in my dominant hand for months now and after seeing an orthopedic specialist, was diagnosed with a carpal boss (bone growth on top of hand) and a cyst in my wrist joint. I’m getting surgery to remove both on May 7th and in the meantime I’m trying to get some alternative income generated since not working means no $. Feel free to share with anyone interested. Grateful for .thegallery who has curated the most comfortable, welcoming, and intentional space and makes artists feel supported and appreciated. Feeling lucky to both love my job AND workplace (rarely have I felt this way about any tattoo shop), and to be surrounded by badass women who are both unbelievably talented and extremely kind 🥹🥹🥹

Fresh additions for Bob (who’s a badass animal rescue volunteer)! These all represent creatures he’s worked with in different countries. We added kelp, urchins, a male elephant seal chasing a couple squid, a leopard shark, and some other fun surprises that live in the kelp forest ❤️
Side note: whenever I do nature tattoos I think about my environmental impact and am grateful to be able to use majority compostable products from .ca 🌿

Posting this on the feed because it’s wild that brands just throw around “research” without backing it up. And villainizing products that have been around/are cheaper, tried and true, AND dermatologist recommended is wild. I’m pro petroleum jelly but also pro whatever works best for your skin! I use mango butter and she’s in moisturizers but have used aquaphor for all my healing and have never had issues (besides with saniderm, don’t get me started on adhesives). And anti spending more $$ on brands that convince you they’re hot s**t! I linked a good scientific overview in my stories but will post a couple other links in the comments.
• I should also mention that I’m a published coauthor in scientific journals so I take my research seriously (I have a rare bone disease and work with a team of doctors/research specialists). Anyway hope this helps you make more informed and $ conscious decisions without falling for clickbait advertising ❤️

Also, a little update: after dealing with pain for a long time I was diagnosed with a bone growth on my hand and a cyst in my wrist (both on my right side which sucks because it’s dominant). I’ll be getting hand/wrist surgery sometime in the near future (date tbd) so my health anxiety has been through the roof. I’ll be taking 4-6 weeks off to recover so book those sessions before I get that surgery date! I’m assuming it may be in the summer but who knows with insurance?? Anyway enjoy the backlog of photos and health info dump. And send good vibes to my right hand so it doesn’t destroy me!
