💙🐾 Meet Bam Bam 🐾💙

Sometimes the smallest puppies face the biggest battles.

This little guy is Bam Bam, a tiny 4–5 week old Catahoula mix puppy who was found injured in a citizen’s yard and brought to the shelter. We don’t know exactly what happened to him, but it appears he may have been attacked or suffered some type of traumatic injury.

Despite everything he’s been through, Bam Bam is fighting.

Today, Burnside Paws Animal Rescue stepped up to save him from the shelter and rushed him straight to the veterinarian, where he is now receiving the medical care he desperately needs. At only a few pounds, he’s just a baby, and our hearts are completely wrapped around this sweet little boy.

Right now, our focus is on helping Bam Bam heal. We are praying for a full recovery and giving him every chance at the happy life he deserves.

Once he is healthy and cleared by the veterinary team, Bam Bam will be available for adoption. In the meantime, we are also looking for a committed foster home for when he is ready to leave the hospital.

🐾 Robbie’s Story: Still Waiting… 🐾

Sometimes the dogs who deserve a home the most are the ones who get overlooked.

Robbie has been waiting patiently in Wisconsin for the family he’s dreamed of. Day after day, he watches people come and go, hoping that maybe today will be the day someone stops for him.

When Robbie was sitting on the euthanasia list, his future looked uncertain. His life was measured in hours, not years. But we couldn’t let his story end there. We saw the good boy behind those eyes and knew he deserved a chance.

Since then, Robbie has been nothing but grateful.

He greets people with a wagging tail, enjoys his walks, loves attention, and waits hopefully for someone to see just how special he is. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just a soft bed, a few treats, some belly rubs, and a family to call his own.

There was even a time when we thought his wait was almost over. Plans were made, hope was high, and Robbie’s bags were practically packed. But the plan fell through, and once again, he was left wondering why everyone else gets chosen while he remains behind.

Through it all, Robbie has never stopped believing.

At roughly 2½ years old and around 50–60 pounds, this sweet boy has his whole life ahead of him. He’s survived the shelter. He’s survived being unwanted. Now he just needs someone to show him what forever feels like.

Every dog deserves a happy ending.

Robbie is still waiting for his.

Every dog in these photos was once sitting in a shelter, many of them on the euthanasia list with time running out. Through the support of our fosters, adopters, donors, volunteers, and everyone who shares our posts, these dogs were given a chance.

Today, they are no longer waiting in a kennel. They are stretched out on couches, going for walks, playing with toys, making memories with their families, and finally experiencing what it means to be loved and safe.

Their stories could have ended very differently, but because people stepped up, they got the second chance they deserved.

Seeing these happy faces in their forever homes reminds us why we continue doing this work, even when it is difficult. Every transport, every vet visit, every late-night phone call, every fundraising effort, and every foster home makes moments like these possible.

🐾 SPADE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🐾

This is the update we’ve all been waiting for!

Our sweet boy Spade has officially left on transport and arrived safely at his forever home in Michigan. ❤️

After all the waiting, all the sharing, and all the hope, Spade has found an absolutely incredible family who already adore him. In just his first days home, he’s been settling in beautifully, enjoying a four-mile walk, exploring waterfalls, and showing everyone what a wonderful boy he truly is.

His new family says they are completely in love with him already, and Spade is proving to be the perfect addition to their home. Seeing him happy, loved, and living the life he deserves makes every mile, every transport, and every effort worthwhile.

This is why we do what we do.

Do you remember sweet Canela, Bobby’s mama?

When we rescued little Bobby from the euthanasia list and rushed her to the hospital for lifesaving care, we learned her mom, Canela, was still at the shelter—just as sick and running out of time. We couldn’t leave her behind.

Today, we’re thrilled to share that Canela is doing amazingly well! ❤️

This beautiful mama has come so far and is now looking for either:
🏡 A foster home in the Dallas, Texas area, or
🏡 A forever adoptive home anywhere in the United States (transport can be arranged).

Canela has overcome so much. After losing her puppies and battling serious illness, she deserves a family of her own where she can finally relax, be loved, and enjoy the life she’s fought so hard for.

🐾 Baby Bobby’s Incredible Journey 🐾

Just a short time ago, Baby Bobby was fighting for her life.

This tiny puppy sat in a Texas shelter, gravely ill and facing an uncertain future. When we learned how sick she was, we knew we couldn’t turn our backs on her. Thanks to your support, Bobby was rescued and rushed into intensive medical care where she spent weeks receiving lifesaving treatment.

Bobby endured multiple blood transfusions, medications, constant monitoring, and around-the-clock veterinary care. There were moments when her future was uncertain, but this little fighter never gave up.

Today, we are thrilled to share that Bobby is OUT of the ICU and thriving in a foster home! ❤️

She has completed her blood transfusions and major medical treatments, and she continues to improve every day. While she still has one important follow-up appointment in about three and a half weeks to ensure everything is progressing as it should, her veterinary team is very pleased with how far she has come.

From a critically ill puppy fighting for survival to a happy little girl learning what it means to be loved, Bobby’s transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

Soon, Bobby will be ready to begin the next chapter of her journey—finding the forever family she deserves. 🏡

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared her story, cheered her on, and believed in her during his darkest days. Because of you, Bobby got her second chance.
