Congratulations to Tim Schoenborn who is the first recipient of the Pawisble the Giving Lion Scholarship at Fox Valley Technical College.

Tim is enrolled in the Fire and Paramedic program. Tim's goal is to be a police officer, firefighter, and paramedic. He served 4 years of active duty in the USMC, and currently volunteers at his local fire department. Tim worked in construction after the military, but wanted a career that offered more camaraderie. He states, "My Dad is a full time firefighter paramedic and seeing what he does and the way people in that profession work together, I think is awesome, and I wanted to be apart of that."

Thank you, Tim, for your service to our country and your dedication to the community. You are the perfect fit for Pawsible's scholarship!

The Beginning

In the spring of 2019, after 12 years of making the rounds across FVTC campuses, Smarty Pants headed to a new home. Through a Leadership Fox Cities project, the lion will find his new home at the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley in downtown Appleton, to be a community bank for local charities.

Each month, the money deposited in the bank will be donated to a different local charity. One month each year, the proceeds will go to the Fox Valley Technical College Foundation, Inc. for student scholarships.

Smarty Pants will be refurbished and renamed, with his unveiling in the new location to take place sometime this summer.
