Finally got back to a project I wanted to do since I got this 1953 schwinn hornet as a complete at Iola Car show last summer. The rims are from the original bike (last pic). Finally got around to building them into a wheel set for this bike. Started by OA bathing the rims. Then built on to a bendex redband coaster and random sealed bmx front hub with stainless spokes and blue nips. Wrapped in new Tioga rubber. I love the look. Ties In the crispy white patina on the frame perfect. Keep it Klunky

Tried something a bit different with this build. 1940 Elgin curved seat tube frame built with a Dirt Jumper vibe. Triple tree forks and DJ cranks. I love the look with the Cooks Bros style stem and classic klunker touches as well.

Budget build for a buddy that holds true to my idea of a klunker. A post war 40s Mead Crusader frame built with a Bendex Red band coaster, 70s enduro bars , and vintage bmx parts. Where I saved money was on the 1 piece cranks, faux leather seat and jelly bean style stem. Getting people klunking around is what it’s about.

A little modification to my 1936 Elgin Collegiate. I crafted a very fitting head badge from my favorite drink on our weekly Klunker Cruises
