Time to get Haku cleaned and ready for polish.
After cleaning off the flux I use fine nonscratch scuff pads and 0000 steel wool on the solder.

I’m really excited to finally have Haku all ready to be soldered along with a couple other lil nerdy things.
Any guess on what the other pieces are?

During my unexpected stained glass break I made a few hand carved wood signs.
My (part time) neighbor is a nice old gentleman who first asked me a few years ago to carve him a sign and offer to pay me even though I’d never carved anything. I am thankful for people who trust in my creativity and skills to deliver them a piece they’re happy with.

If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t posted much lately, it’s because our grinder needed a bearing replaced which took a bit longer than anticipated.
In the interim I was partaking in one of my other favorite pastimes - gluing lots of scrap wood bits together to make cutting boards.
Now I just need to put my grinding station back together and I can get back to stained glass projects! It was a good break for my creative brain but I’m ready to try some new stained glass ideas.

I don’t want to jinx it but I’m excited I’ve gotten this far!
There have been so many pieces that have broken. I’ve recut one of the large body pieces at least 6 times; it broke while cutting, it broke while grinding, I’ve had it basically done so many times and had to start all over. This is by far the most complex stained glass project I’ve done so far and has the most pieces and so many are complex shapes. I will be ecstatic and elated once this is finished.

Felt that creative spark when I figured out I could chain ply as I crochet. I dyed this skein several years ago when I went to a yarn dying class and I haven’t used it because it’s fi*****ng weight and that takes eons to work up with crochet.
I would like to dye yarn again. Once I get my art/workspace updated and new desk made! Hopefully. 🤣
