Rocks and Rivers. It's the simple things. This one is for my fans (like 10 of you lol)

The Cholla Cactus - Known for it's multi-purposes. The living plants serve as food for desert livestock, and cholla wood, a hollow cylinder with regularly spaced holes, is used for fuel and novelties. Some cholla fruit is actually edible.

At least two species—cane cholla (Cylindropuntia imbricata) and Whipple’s cholla (C. whipplei)—are hardy to −18 °C (0 °F) or below

Been a while! Have a batch of new photos to share in the coming days from our trip down south.

This is the Ocotillo, "little torch" in spanish. The fitting name references the clusters of bright red flowers at their stem tips. Plants bloom once in the spring from March through June depending on latitude then sporadically in response to rainfall during the summer. Hummingbirds pollinate the flowers. In southern Arizona, blooming coincides with the northern migration of hummingbirds and ocotillos provide a dependable food source even when other spring plants fail to bloom.🌵🏜️🌺
