Yesterday was the perfect weather for gardening. Rasami Moua and her ๐๐น๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐๐ถ๐ ) program gathered at the community garden to keep physically active and do more planting. The elders had the opportunity to share their knowledge and wisdom with the next generation through a hands-on gardening experience. From preparing the soil to planting seeds, our children and younger adults learned alongside our elders, who generously passed down skills, traditions, and life lessons rooted in culture and experience.
Intergenerational learning is about building relationships, preserving knowledge, and creating meaningful connections between generations. We are grateful to our elders for their willingness to teach and to our youth for their eagerness to learn.
With every seed planted, we are growing more than vegetables. We are cultivating culture, connection, and community

Community Gardening
This evening, Rasami rounded up the elders, headed to the garden and everyone got to working before the rain came. With willing hearts and dedicated souls, our elders continue to stay active physically, mentally, and spiritually through gardening, cultural connection, and community.
Gardening is familiarity, a part of who they are, what they know, and the traditions many of them were raised with. Much work is yet to be done, but hopefully in a few short weeks, weโll see beautiful vegetables beginning to sprout.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
This Memorial Day, NEW HMong remembers those who gave their lives in service so that future generations could live with freedom, hope, and opportunity. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
As we gather with family and loved ones today, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude for the fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.
In observance of Memorial Day, our office is closed today.
We will resume normal business hours tomorrow.

This is the beauty of what community can do when we come together with a shared purpose... beautiful things can grow.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make today possible.
Thank you to our partners Zion Lutheran Church- ELCA, Multicultural Coalition, Inc., Partnership Community Health Center, our incredible teams, volunteers, and supporters who showed up, rolled up their sleeves to lend a helping hands, brought tools, encouragement, and heart as we worked together to create this Community Garden.
What started as an idea is now becoming a space that will grow fresh produce, bring people together, and give back to families in our community.
