Northbound I-41 at WIS 47/Richmond St. CLOSED in Outagamie County
Closure due to emergency repairs

(Appleton) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces northbound I-41 at WIS 47/Richmond Street will remain closed during the evening commute on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, for emergency repairs due to a traffic incident.

Traffic impacts
• Northbound I-41 at WIS 47/Richmond Street (exit 142) is CLOSED Tuesday, June 9 for emergency barrier wall repairs.
DETOUR: Traffic will be directed to take Richmond Street exit ramp, travel across WIS 47, and re-enter northbound I-41.
ALTERNATE ROUTE: Drivers can take northbound WIS 441 (exit 134) to northbound I-41.

BE ALERT: High temps are forecast over the next several days which increases the chance for pavement buckles across Wisconsin. When the weather quickly goes from cool to very hot, slabs of pavement can expand and push against one another. If the pressure is great enough, pavement can buckle and create unexpected bumps or dips.

Crews were busy pouring the bridge deck at the Southbridge Interchange this morning in Brown County! Weather permitting, overnight work continues this week.

🚧 OVERNIGHT FREEWAY CLOSURES - June 8-11 🚧

NB and SB I-41 between WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue (exit 139) and Ballard Road (exit 144) to CLOSE nightly Monday, June 8 through Thursday, June 11, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

REMINDER: WIS 76/County Road JJ roundabout construction begins on Monday (June 8 ) in Greenville, Outagamie County
WIS 76 detour route changes Monday, June 8

(Greenville WI) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces construction begins on June 8 for WIS 76 Stage 2 work at the WIS 76 and County JJ intersection. Construction includes a new roundabout intersection. The current detour route will also be modified for Stage 2 work.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 76 between Everglade Road and County JJ is closed to through traffic for roadway reconstruction, with detours in place, until November 2026. A second detour will follow the first detour after Stage 1 work on June 8, 2026.
• Current: Stage 1 detour:
o Stage 1 detour for WIS 76 Everglade Road to County JJ reconstruction:
 Detour via WIS 15 to County JJ to WIS 76.
• June 8 to November 2026: Starting June 8, the Stage 2 detour will replace the Stage 1 detour.
o Stage 2 detour for WIS 76 Everglade Road to County JJ including the County JJ intersection.
 Detour via WIS 15 to County JJ to Oak Street to County M to County S to WIS 76.
• Access to properties and businesses within the work zone will be always maintained.

Project Overview
This is a $9.3 million contract to reconstruct the rural roadway to an urban roadway. Work includes a new roundabout intersection, new sidewalk, storm water improvements at Valley Pond and a new stormwater pond near Hillview Drive. Please see the project website for all construction operations.

Highway maintenance taking place in Northeast Wisconsin
Traffic impacts for maintenance work the week of June 1

(Northeast Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces state highway maintenance work in Northeast Wisconsin and associated traffic impacts. Maintenance operations are typically performed in spot locations within the project limits. Traffic impacts do not typically affect the entire highway limits of the maintenance project or throughout the project’s entire duration.

Outagamie County
• Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement between WIS 125 and the south county line on Thursday, June 4 from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.
