What’s wrong with this picture?
A homeowner or inexperienced landscaper looks at a tree and thinks “Hmmmm, a paver bed and some landscaping around these trees will really make it pop”
Just a little weekend of work and the finished product looks great to untrained eyes
However trees are not decorations to be accessorized. Changing grade around trees can cause major decay or decline. This landscape bed has been in place for 5+ years and although the crown doesn’t reflect it yet, the stem has suffered major decay from the soil and plants piled against its trunk.
This happened to two trees on the property and it’s led to the removal of one and a costly rehab bill for its neighbor.

Opening up the View for a Client In Windermere today.
Quite a challenge retrieving the brush from the lake edge. The soil looked solid but you take one step out and it drops you into 3 foot of Muck. Managed to get all three of us 😂

Sad to see it go but the tree was completely hollow and had a few bad breakouts in a high traffic area. Safely removed and stump ground. When you find a hollow tree like this, they often have “black gold” in the center. The soil produced inside those hollows is some of the best soil you can get. Extemely rich in insect castings and animal droppings, a little handful sprinkled on your potted plants will make them thrive. 🌳

Shut down the street for this one. Traffic control in place and bracing to protect the sidewalk. We were blessed the tree had a slight weight distribution towards where we needed it to go.
Client was nice enough to catch this video for us. The kids were real excited to see it come down 🤠

Laurel Oak Removal we knocked out today.
Tree had been in decline for a while and homeowner had put it into the back of their mind until a branch fell and came close to hitting one of their children playing basketball. They gave us a call and we made it a priority and got out within a week.
Client also had quite a headache with the surrounding elevated landscape bed. Lots of ugly weeds and timbers blocking their driveway. We ground through the entirety of the stump and elevated grade, removed the landscape ties and an entire dump truck load of dirt to get their yard leveled out. Spread a grass seed blend on that fresh dirt. Itll be looking like a whole new house once that grass is coming in!
