⭐Want to do something that truly matters - AND ONLY TAKES AN HOUR?⭐
Human trafficking thrives in silence and misunderstanding.
Each month, people across the nation join us to learn what trafficking really looks like and how to respond safely. We want you to know too!
Our next virtual Human Trafficking 101 session is a simple first step with a powerful ripple effect.
Your awareness could change the trajectory of someone’s life!
Join us on June 9th at 7pm and help build a safer, more informed North Carolina. Click here 👉shieldnc.org/trainings or check the link in our bio. 👆

Our Outreach Team was back at it last weekend, visiting medical centers, hotels, and apartment communities.
Along with a laminated list of red flags tailored to each profession, we also provide special key tags for cleaning and maintenance staff of hotels and apartments.
Having staff who can effective recognize and respond to human trafficking is vital if we want to rid our state of this crime.
We partner closely with local law enforcement to identify areas where trafficking activity is most likely to occur, ensuring these resources get into the right hands.
These materials make a real difference — but they aren’t free. If you’d like to support this work, you can easily set up a monthly giving plan at www.shieldnc.org/donate (link in bio). Thank you for helping us equip local communities.

Yesterday, we issued an Official Position Statement and encourage other anti-trafficking organizations to do the same.
As an organization committed to ending exploitation, we cannot remain quiet at this moment. Our shared voice reflects our shared commitment: to stand with survivors, to confront the systems that protect offenders, and to demand accountability for those who exploit others.
Action steps for the public are included in the statement.
Read the complete position statement at www.shieldnc.org.

Traffickers count on people not knowing the signs.
We refuse to let that continue, especially in healthcare settings where a single trained professional can change the trajectory of someone’s life.
Last week, our Outreach Team hit the ground in , delivering resources and offering targeted training to medical facilities.

Traffickers target those who are most vulnerable.
Youth with foster care histories face especially high risk. An estimated 60–90% of trafficked minors have been involved in child welfare.
Every child deserves safety and support.
Action item: Attend our next virtual Human Trafficking 101 to learn the warning signs so you can help protect a young person who may not have anyone else watching out for them.
