The problem isn't the tool. It's the input.
Most people using AI get generic output and blame the model. But the pattern is predictable: vague prompt, vague response.
At RoleModel Software, we have been learning what makes the difference, and we captured that thinking into a framework we call CRAFT. Context, Role, Ask, Fit, Tune.
Not a trick for getting better AI results. A discipline for thinking more precisely before you hand anything off. No different from briefing a colleague, writing a clear ask, or setting up a meeting with purpose.
The people getting the most from AI aren't using better tools. They're communicating better.

How do you know when it's the right time to invest in software? Not too early. Not too late.
Caleb talked through exactly that with Jordan Raynor, bestselling author of Redeeming Your Time. If you want more thinking like this on faith and work, Jordan's weekly devotional is worth your time: jordanraynor.com/twbw-weekly-devo
Spreadsheets aren't the problem. They're excellent tools. The problem is when they stop being tools and start being infrastructure.
There's a point every growing SMB hits where the flexibility that made spreadsheets useful becomes the reason they're costing you. Not in obvious ways. In friction, in errors, in decisions you stop making because pulling the data is too hard.
New post on what that actually costs, and how to know if you've crossed that line. https://rolemodelsoftware.com/blog/the-real-cost-of-spreadsheet-debt-in-growing-smbs?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_id=2413
If you're wondering whether you've reached that point, start with a conversation. Our business consultation tool is a good first step: https://consult.rolemodelsoftware.com/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_id=2413
3 signs you've outgrown spreadsheets:
1️⃣ Your team spends more time managing the spreadsheet than using the data
2️⃣ You're afraid to make changes because something might break
3️⃣ You need 3+ people to access it simultaneously, and it's getting messy
Sound familiar?
Custom software might be your answer—but how do you know if it's worth the investment?
We built an AI tool that helps you figure that out. Describe your challenge, get instant feedback on whether custom software makes sense for your situation.

Taking turns is not a collaboration strategy.
The default multi-user design workflow is familiar: email files back and forth, work in sequence, hope nobody overwrites your changes. It holds until it doesn't, and it stops working the moment the cost of waiting for the other person becomes visible.
We evaluated every existing collaborative framework for LightningCAD and found none of them met the responsiveness a design environment actually demands. So we built our own, around how your team actually works: live cursor presence, dynamic updates, and project locking that puts control with the team, not the tool.
The architecture behind real-time collaboration also improved single-user performance. And the principle it runs on: collaboration isn't limited to two people editing at once. It's any combination of people, processes, and tools working on the same design without stepping on each other.
