Sometimes, building a customers putter requires building a test piece to dial in a few details. Cavity width, angle of the fl**ge slope and top line thickness all can be adjusted to fit the material and neck shape being used. This is one of those “TEST PUTTER”s. Im@building a similar putter for a customer using Damascus and dialing in a few measurements was key. This BL/66 303SS will finish up at 350 grams and if sold prior to final dialing, the customer will get to request offset and to some extent, toe hang or lack of it. She is totally clean of any stamps and buyer chooses that, as well. It will be stamped TEST PUTTER somewhere on the head, as that is what it is. Pricing is for a 100% handmade build in 303SS and will be very reasonable for that spec. Thanks for stopping by and checking this out!

I’ve had this one milled up for a couple of weeks and finally got around to snapping some pix to share. It is a carbon Damascus head and stainless short slant neck. I’ve polished the neck and the head itself is simply etched in .piss without any oxide treatment following. It looks like a serious piece of putting machinery in-hand and will be available, very soon. It’s a full-size head and tips the scales at 368 grams. She’s a hefty piece of putter, but if needed, I’d happy slim her down to a more acceptable number. Today, 370 is not that uncommon. So, for@now I’ll leave her be. Tell me what you think of the pattern and the shape.

I have the opportunity to create a build from a very high quality, specific use material forged into Damascus billets. Keep your eyes peeled to see what shows itself as the milling gets rolling.

A quick post of a recent spec build that is available. Stainless steel MA/55 is the base and she was treated to a triple torch finish that used an oxy-acetylene finishing detail that gives it a cool edge look that I’m loving. Not a ton of stamps, but you can see just where I went with it. Reach out if you need a new wand for the Summer. 🇺🇸

A little something I’ve worked on occasionally for the past bit. In the beginning of my putter journey, I’d get fixated on a shape and do 4-6 in a row, all that style. Not so much anymore. This is the first of this headshape that I’ve done in a while. Carbon steel, boiled black oxide finish and triple lines in the fl**ge. I love the way it turned out and it’s ready for a new home. 100% hand milled or hand turned on this one. Reach out if you feel like this might be a need for you.

In 2014, a customer requested something like his Mini Miura putter, except with a cavity and site lines that he had decided upon. The last picture shows what I built for him. Recently, he was in the country and had a request for something similar, but deeper from face to back edge of the fl**ge. We went from 1.5” to 2.0” and thinned the bumpers to reduce the weight. The new one is stainless steel while the original was NP3 coated carbon steel. Feel should be very similar and I’m hopeful that he likes the newer version as much as the original. 100% hand milled on the Bridgeport and ready for the lines to be cut, once I get approval of the shape. Hand milling is where I really find myself enjoying what I do. Be good and smile when they least expect it! 🇺🇸 ❤️

You’re going to see a lot more LaMont’s Garage in the coming months. This one is a handmade BL/66 Cavity in black oxide dress and a Watcher on the toe-end of the sole. Tips the scales in the 340-344 gram range. It can be cut to any length and the lie angle is easily adjustable. Loft is currently 3*. It will be dressed in a Watcher cover when it leaves and won’t disappoint. 🇺🇸

This design has been coming for a while and the finish on this is one of my all-time favorites. It’s not going to be for everybody, but it is one of just eight pieces that I had done and the odds of two in any foursome is very slim. The head design has been met with very solid reviews and feedback. It has an aircraft grade 6061 aluminum body and brass face to sole wrap-around plate. Stainless screws and the best quality dual surface tape that I could source ensures a solid feel. Also, the fit tolerances were kept very tight to ensure the quality of the product. Each one is fit and assembled right here in LaMont’s Garage in Scottsdale. Headweight in a full-fl**ge build has been in the 355-357 gram range. I’ll post some pix of a reduced fl**ge version in the coming days. The first eight wearing the Zombie Camo finish will be on the site by day’s end.

My wife recorded the USA/Canada Olympic hockey gold medal game for me and it reminded me of a putter that I made in 2019. Was for a kid who I believe grew up in Scottsdale and does OK for himself in the NHL and Olympics. Black Oxide MA/66 with a little logo work on the sole done by a good friend here in town. Go USA HOCKEY!!

A little Beefy GSS BL66 build for a local customer. It’s being built to play as a 38” putter using a 17” grip and possibly a back weight to counter some extra headweight. Well let the customer give it a roll before adding that counter balanced set-up. The “Fancy Face” sort of came together as it was being done and I love the way it finished up. The neck dressing ties into the face and gives it a cool personality. Whatcha think? 🇺🇸
