We walked along some abandoned train tracks today. And then watched some commuter trains pull in and leave the station. Luca couldn’t stop smiling. Trains are his favorite thing ever. From the backseat my younger son asked “why does he like trains so much Mom?” And I said “I don’t know exactly” The truth is we don’t have to understand what people like and dislike. That’s not our role. Because when you love someone unconditionally your only job is to support them and cheer for them from the sidelines. IMPORTANT INFO👇 I’m not saying these always go together, but I am saying that they are common comorbidities and yes there are studies to back this up. PMDD is not a hormonal imbalance, but is typically actually a histamine response due to our mast cells being activated by hormonal shifts. And yes, we are more likely to get increased pain and symptoms with hormonal shifts throughout our cycle. Two weeks in or a week before our periods are the most common times. My brain is sometimes the loudest part of my day. And when I get overwhelmed, I shut down. But I can’t “shut down” as mom, so here are some ways I manage the mental load. 1. Make to-do lists Getting it out of my head and into paper helps so much. And there’s nothing more satisfying than crossing off each item as I get stuff done! 2. Delegate responsibilities If it needs to get done but I can’t do it, I send it over to my husband. He’s always willing, and it’s not his fault he can’t read my mind. 3. Choose environments wisely If my goal is to be productive, then I need a quiet working space free of distraction. If my goal is to be creative, a busy coffee shop is when I can garner some inspiration. My environment definitely impacts my productivity and mood. 08/07/2024
