Topo Wilderness | The One who Loves to Build with You 12/09/2024

For those of us who fear we've been entrusted with more than we can handle...

Topo Wilderness | The One who Loves to Build with You How do you handle your mistakes? What if they're more valuable than you give them credit?

Topo Wilderness | 7 Books to Grow in Intimacy with God 11/22/2024

I struggled a bit this year in creating my Christmas wish list, so thought I might help someone else.

Have a book or two you'd put in your own list? Add it in the comments and tell us why! (Bonus if you include your Thinking/Doing/Being assessment)

Arche Year: Enrolling Now 08/26/2024

3 years ago, I sensed the Lord inviting me to grow as a writer. I had no idea how to go about that and began looking for avenues. I discovered Archeyear, and I had a sense that it was exactly what I needed, so I jumped in. 1 year later, I had completed a first draft of Every Bush Afire and was on the path to publishing. I had no intention of publishing anything, I was just on a journey with God.

This class formed me as a writer.

God cultivates things in each of us, and He stirs us to express them in various ways for the sake of the world. If He's stirring you to writing, take a step. You don't have to know where it goes, be obedient to move forward.

Arche Year: Enrolling Now Christian writers: What if you could write a novel and launch an author's platform in the next year? With just ten hours per week?

"The world needs your ideas. Story is a vehicle for you to change the world.".. I'm lovin' it.

There are still women being liberated from slavery. Celebrate Juneteenth by joining the work of setting captives free.

Let me know if you'd like to support any such mission. I know great ministries that are putting themselves on the front lines (both stateside and internationally) and are seeing real results.

For the curious, here's a Peters Family Update...

It's been two years since we left Ohio, much has changed! I thought I'd share a quick overview of how we're doing.

Family Life: Micah's 13, and Elise is 12, it's so fun to watch them in this season of their development! They are becoming more personally invested in things that matter to them, and we can see how this transition has matured them in meaningful ways. We're renting a house with a friend from our church plant team, our space is such a gift for us.

Work Life: Melissa has been working full time for the last year, it has been quite an adjustment for our family (after primarily serving in the "Mom" business). She's flexing her creative problem solving, management and relational skills in significant ways and making a positive impact on her company. I continue to do handyman work, I now have a handful of fantastic repeat customers who I enjoy connecting with. For the last few months however, I've begun fundraising in order to give more of myself to our church planting process. I am so thankful for my supporters, it's going really well!

Church Life: Our Church experiment, which is now known as "Fuse," is a thrilling adventure. We have a team of high caliber people who are committed to exploring uncharted territory -which isn't always pleasant. One step at a time, we are exploring and developing systems and structures for foundational aspects of "Church," including how we gather, disciple, empower, make decisions, engage in mission, etc. I have much more respect for anyone who has ever pioneered anything. One phrase I've heard the Lord saying to me over the last year, "Anything worth building is worth building slowly."

Melissa and I continue to enjoy and struggle with our current reality, that the old shape of our lives is gone, and we can't quite see the new one. It's a journey of discovery and surrender. The Lord is forming great things in us in the process and for that we're so grateful.

I share more regular updates with a team of supporters and prayer partners, let me know if you'd like to join our team!

When the opposition gets thick, grab the duct tape. Keep going!

"It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons." -Hebrews 12:7

"Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, 'Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.'" -Isaiah 35:3-4

"No, the gates of hell will not prevail."
-Maverick City Music

This line started playing as I passed through this tight natural tunnel this morning. It's so easy to get caught up in the frustrations and struggles of relationships, but I sense the Lord inviting me into awe and delight at the raw power of the gathering of the saints. We become a conduit of the kingdom-flipping might of the presence of God when we stick together. The gates of hell will not prevail! 💪🏼
