Well we are on a roll. Unfortunately it is not the roll we would like to be on. Remember handsome Rocky that was a cruelty case and tied outside to a fire hydrant in sub zero weather? We finally were able to get him into an amazing foster home but learned quickly that after being isolated for months while the court system dragged out he built up a lot of separation anxiety. His foster Dad, Jamie, has done a great job working on that. We noticed when we got him there seemed to be an injury to his back leg. Well today it was confirmed he had a full blown cruciate rupture. Dr Kwan repaired it and we have a long recovery ahead and a vet bill we could REALLY need help with. I know we have had a lot of surgery issues lately but that is exactly why we can really use some help. If you can help us help Rocky, any amount, we can really use this help. Thirteen years ago we got the sweetest boy from Waukegan animal control. Jessie was a character. He was probably between 18 months and two years old. He loved life and was lucky enough to get adopted by Jody and Joe who are a big part of A &S Rescue. Jessie was supposed to be a foster but had a lot of energy in his younger days. He needed a home that allowed him to grow and mature and keep him safe. And he got it. They adopted him and now 13 years later we said goodbye. Hardest goodbye anyone can have. Jessie won all our hearts and we are grateful for the wonderful life he was able to have. Second chances are hard to come by. 💕 First pic is day one. My how time flies

URGENT - we had previously posted that Sammie needed a new home due to changes in the family. However, we just found out that one of the family members is able to keep her when they move into their new home next month. They have asked us to help them find her a safe place to stay for a month. Can someone PLEASE help? They can offer some financial support for the dog during this temporary time. She is great with kids and other dogs and loves everyone. Please share since we need to find her a place to go as soon as possible. She needs to be out of the house when they move on June 16.  Please message with any questions. Thank you!

This is Samantha or Sammie. She needs a new home due to no fault of her own. Her family’s situation has changed and they can no longer keep her. She is a 5 yr old Cattle Dog/ Mountain Cur mix and weighs approx 50 lbs. She is super sweet with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She absolutely loves cuddles, kisses, and being close to her people. This happy girl gets along wonderfully with other animals and children of all ages, making her a perfect family companion.
She’s full of energy and always ready for an adventure, whether it’s car rides, playtime, or stopping for her favorite pup cup! Sammie is house trained, smart, and very treat motivated. More good news. Poor Rocky was a court case for quite a while. The stress of the kennel was horrible for him and he deteriorated and developed horrible separation anxiety. Luckily we were able to get him into a very dog savvy home where he is learning what love is. Ironically he does great in the giant crate we got him. He will go in and chill on his own. He is building trust and he is being weaned off the high doses of anxiety meds he was on. He is enjoying walks and building trust with the other dog in the home. We are grateful he is getting this chance at a new life. And have I mentioned he loves his dad and is adorable?

Things in rescue can change quickly. When we found out Johnny was losing his home it was a bit of a panic mode knowing we had to find a new home for him fast. But something amazing happened, and their names are Amy and Danny and their wonderful fur child Reign. Now named Benny, you can see how amazing this is! Thank you to Britta for helping with this.
