๐ฟ Thank You, Michelle Hornsby & RedBird Willow Farm ๐ฟ
This week, the Rotary Club of Calhoun County had the privilege of hearing the powerful story behind RedBird Willow Farm and the healing journey that grew from unimaginable loss.
Michelle Hornsby shared how, following the loss of her son Justin nearly 10 years ago, she and her family transformed grief into purpose by creating a place centered on kindness, connection, comfort, and healing for others walking through difficult seasons.
What began as a mission to support grieving mothers has grown into something that has touched thousands across our community. In just the past six years, more than 30,000 visitors have experienced the peace and comfort found at RedBird Willow Farm through the animals, the environment, and the compassion Michelle and her family so freely share.
One message especially resonated with our club today:
โIf you want to heal, go help someone.โ
RedBird Willow Farm has become a place of hope for families facing grief, trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles, with a growing passion for pediatric su***de prevention through kindness, connection, and community support. Their impact reaches far beyond the farm gates into schools, nursing homes, nonprofits, and the lives of countless individuals needing encouragement.
Michelle also shared an update on Chappy, the beloved therapy alpaca who remains missing despite extensive searches. Thanks to community support, a reward has been offered for his safe return, but he has still not made it home. We continue to hope for Chappyโs safe return to the farm and the many people he has comforted over the years.
Thank you, Michelle, for your vulnerability, your faith, and for reminding us all that even in grief, healing can grow when we choose to serve and love others well.

Today at Rotary, we had the privilege of hearing from Charles Kelly, Head Football Coach at Jacksonville State University.
Coach Kelly shared powerful leadership lessons that extend far beyond the football field:
๐ โHow you do anything is how you do everything.โ
๐ โThe biggest thing a leader has to do is be honest and clear in expectations.โ
๐ โLeaders create more leaders.โ
He also spoke about the importance of growing student-athletes emotionally, physically, mentally, and athletically โ developing not just better players, but better people.
We were also honored to recognize and make a donation to the Jacksonville State University International House, supporting their incredible work in creating connection, cultural understanding, and community for students from around the world. ๐โค๏ธ
Thank you, Coach Kelly, for an inspiring message on leadership, discipline, and investing in the next generation!
