The Calhoun County Commission adopted a resolution designating the Mountain Longleaf Pine as the Official Tree of Calhoun County and proclaiming February 22–28, 2026 as Arbor Week in Calhoun County.
Our forests — from mountain ridges to river valleys — shape the history, economy, and character of this county. Trees improve air quality, protect watersheds, support wildlife, enhance property values, and strengthen our overall quality of life. The Mountain Longleaf Pine, native to our upland ridges and rocky terrain, represents resilience and the enduring strength of Calhoun County — a symbol already reflected within our County seal.
