PBS has a 4-part series called Black and Jewish America. It explores the long history and relationship of the Black and Jewish communities and their shared experiences of anti-Semitism and discrimination. This features commentary and insight from professors from several universities. One of the professors is Annapolis native Dr. Eric Goldstein from Emory University. Eric attended Congregation Kneseth Israel and his father is a past president. Check out this series if you get a chance.

Mazel Tov to the 2025 Congregant of the Year Steve Sutton. Steve took on responsibility for our building security, headed our program committee, and is a devoted gabbai. He does all of this seeking no fanfare or recognition. He has made a huge impact on our synagogue.

Congregation Kneseth Israel hosted a “Beatles Ice Cream Social” on Sunday, January 4th. Local singer and songwriter Nate Finn entertained the crowd to 90 minutes of Beatles music. The event fratured door prizes and a Beatles quiz and an ice cream sundae bar at the conclusion. So much fun to begin 2026!

Congregation Kneseth Israel hosted a very successful Family Chanukah Celebration on Saturday, December 20th on the 7th night. Almost 100 people attended, including Mayor Jared Littmanm, past Mayor Gavin Buckley and Alderman Brooks Schandemeier. A children's chorus and the Kneseth Israel Choir led by Maestro Shouvik Mondle performed and games and crafts were enjoyed by the children. A delicious meal was served and a great time was had by all.

So much fun at the family Chanukah Celebration at Congress Kneseth Israel this past Saturday evening!

Chanukah is fast approaching! The Kneseth Israel Sisterhood Gift Shop is fully stocked with menorahs, candles, dreidels, gift wrap and gift bags. We also have Chanukah tee shirts and greeting cards. Many fun items for your kids and grandkids! Shopping hours this week will be Friday, December 5 between 11:00 AM and 12 noon.
