📈A major new review has just been published by Dr. Jed W. Fahey — widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on sulforaphane science.

✨And it powerfully reinforces what decades of research have increasingly suggested:

🥦✨Sulforaphane is an extraordinary phytochemical.🥦✨

The review explores how sulforaphane may work synergistically with a remarkable range of compounds and interventions, including:

• Pharmaceuticals
• Chemotherapy agent
• Polyphenols
• Longevity compounds
• Antioxidants
• Functional foods, and
• dietary bioactives

✅ Including research involving curcumin, quercetin, green tea catechins, melatonin, metformin, vitamin D, statins, and more.

✨The publication also catalogs 136 human clinical studies involving sulforaphane and broccoli bioactives — highlighting the remarkable depth and breadth of human research now surrounding this compound.

✨What makes this review so compelling is the emerging picture it paints:

💪Sulforaphane is not merely another wellness ingredient or single-target intervention.

🤩It is a powerful phytochemical with the potential to influence multiple core cellular defense, detoxification, oxidative stress, inflammatory, and resilience pathways simultaneously.

🙅🏻‍♀️Not just another tool in the toolkit.

🫶🏼An extraordinary compound with system-wide implications for healthspan science.

TRUEBROC® was built around that understanding from the beginning:

✔ Proprietary broccoli seed genetics
✔ Standardized glucoraphanin
✔ Active myrosinase strategy
✔ Science-first manufacturing
✔ Enhanced sulforaphane bioavailability

👉🏽Because when the science is this important, rigor matters.

🥦✨New publication in Nutrients examining the role of sulforaphane in skin health and inflammation.

🤩🥦This review brings together preclinical and emerging human data showing that sulforaphane—derived from broccoli sprouts—may help modulate key pathways involved in skin inflammation and oxidative stress.

🔬🥦Across models, findings point to:
• Reductions in visible markers of skin stress, including erythema (skin redness)
• Downregulation of pro-inflammatory signaling
• Activation of the body’s intrinsic cellular defense systems, supporting resilience to environmental stressors such as UV exposure

👨‍🔬🥦Co-authored by Dr. Jed Fahey, this work builds on a well-established body of research—including earlier studies exploring sulforaphane’s role in protecting against UV-induced erythema—and continues to deepen our understanding of how these compounds function in the skin.

As interest in skin-focused nutrition grows, the science continues to point in one direction: mechanism matters—and so does rigor.✅✅✅

🤩Wait—did he just say spellbound?🙌🏽

✨At the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute Clinical Mastery Conference, Dr. David Perlmutter previewed an upcoming podcast with Dr. Jed Fahey—the global scientific authority on sulforaphane—and said he was “spellbound” by what he learned.

It hasn’t aired yet—so consider this your heads-up! 🥦🫶🏼

Get ready to hear a lot more about the power of sulforaphane and its impact on brain health in the not-so-distant future. 🧠 📈

🔬 A significant advancement in sulforaphane science.✨

A newly published randomized, double-blind human clinical trial demonstrates a measurable improvement in sulforaphane conversion using TrueBroc® glucoraphanin — developed by Brassica Protection Products.

When paired with active mustard seed–derived myrosinase, bioavailability increased from 19% to 40% — effectively doubling conversion efficiency in humans. 📈

Early-phase absorption (0–8 hours) was more than threefold higher when myrosinase was included, supporting small-intestinal formation rather than reliance solely on colonic microbiota.

For decades, Paul Talalay, MD and Jed W. Fahey, ScD laid the scientific foundation for sulforaphane and Nrf2 biology. Brassica Protection Products was founded to translate that legacy into standardized, clinically reliable ingredients.

This study reinforces that mission — advancing precision in conversion and strengthening the scientific integrity behind TrueBroc®. 🛡️

🥦 TrueBroc® — A legacy of broccoli science advancing cellular defense.

01/28/2026

Dr. , the leading authority on sulforaphane and its biology, and co-founder of Brassica Protection Products (BPP), the manufacturer of TrueBroc®, joins Root of the Cause Radio for an in-depth discussion on how this phytochemical interacts with cancer-relevant biological pathways.

Fahey’s research has been instrumental in shaping current scientific understanding of sulforaphane, from its characterization and bioavailability to its mechanistic and clinical implications. Drawing on decades of work, the conversation examines:
• The role and limits of NRF2 signaling
• Why reductionist, single-target strategies often fall short in oncology
• How sulforaphane influences inflammation, angiogenesis, epigenetic regulation, and cellular stress-response systems
• How to distinguish robust evidence from overextension

A substantive, mechanism-focused discussion led by one of the scientists most closely associated with the field.

🎉 USA TODAY BEST-SELLING BOOK! 🎉

We’re thrilled to celebrate our amazing collaborator Ashley Koff RD LLC on the launch of her new book,
Your Best Shot — now a USA TODAY Best-Selling Book, debuting at #89 on the Top 150 Booklist 📚✨

Launching January 6, Your Best Shot offers a personalized, science-based approach to optimal weight health — GLP-1 shot or not — grounded in how the body truly works.

One of the things we deeply appreciate about Ashley’s work is how much time she dedicates to detoxification — not as a trend, but as a foundational biological process. Supporting the body’s natural detox pathways is essential for metabolic health, hormone balance, and long-term resilience.

That’s where compounds like glucoraphanin, converted in the body to sulforaphane, play a powerful role — activating the body’s own detox and cellular defense systems. 🥦

We’re proud to see these conversations moving into the mainstream — and proud to support the science behind them with ®, a trusted source of stabilized glucoraphanin.🥦

Congratulations, Ashley — this is just the beginning. 💛👏

🎉 We’re proud to recognize Dr. Jed W. Fahey and his co-author Mirran Raphaely on the success of their scientific review, published earlier this year in MDPI Applied Sciences — and now recognized as one of the journal’s most widely read articles.

🥦 The paper explores how sulforaphane, a broccoli-derived bioactive, intersects with sex-specific conditions and hormone balance, including its role in endocrine signaling, inflammation, and cellular defense pathways.

Dr. Fahey’s work builds on a remarkable scientific lineage. Working closely with the late Dr. Paul Talalay — whose trailblazing contributions to biomedical science saw him elected to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences — and Dr. Yuesheng Zhang, this body of research helped establish the modern understanding of sulforaphane, glucoraphanin, and Nrf2 activation.
(Those interested in Dr. Talalay’s life and legacy can read more via the link in our bio.)

🔬This review brings that foundational science forward through a modern, sex-aware lens — underscoring why sulforaphane continues to matter in the future of functional foods, hormone health, and preventative nutrition.
