It's an honor to be your neighbor and your Delegate. Im also proud to serve District 46 alongside Senator Bill Ferguson, who champions the needs of our beloved city and state. As President of the Maryland State Senate, Bill has holds immense influence to make sure our city's needs are respected and prioritized. I've voted for Bill since he first knocked on my door in 2010, during his first election campaign. I look forward to voting for him again in the June 2026 primary!

It's Opening Day! Today, Wednesday January 14th, me and my colleagues convene in Annapolis to pass state laws. This is the "Legislative Session" and it lasts for 90 days. The dome of our state capitol is beautiful, isn't it? Maryland has the oldest, continuously operating state capitol in the country. I and my fellow state lawmakers will focus this Session on Affordability - like energy, health insurance and housing costs - as well as protecting Marylanders from harmful federal policies. Follow me on social, and feel free to email me with your questions and concerns at [email protected]

Folks in my neighborhood and all around District 46 demanded this change and I was glad to vote for it. Kudos to my colleague, bill sponsor Delegate Jackie Addison!
Thank you to for working to stop illegal Virginia tags in Maryland.
More often than not, I have encountered an impatient and reckless driver with VA Tags on our roadways. You and I can do something about it, REPORT THEM!!

Last week, I and my colleagues Senator Bill Ferguson , Delegate Luke Clippinger Delegate Delegate Mark Edelson filed for re-election together as Team46. Together, we’ve made incredible progress including in just the last three years, including:
- Secured over $250 million in capital funds for local projects;
- Strengthened public safety and accountability in both the juvenile and adult justice systems;
- Advanced the most comprehensive legislative package in decades to bring down rising BGE bills;
- Fought back against the chaos and lawlessness of the Trump Administration;
- Invested hundreds of millions of new State dollars in Baltimore City Public Schools so every child can succeed in a 21st century economy;
- Supported environmental justice by ending State subsidies for trash incineration and advancing the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative;
- Expanded access to high-quality health and abortion care while reducing the cost of prescription drugs;
- Allocated huge amounts of State resources into improving mass transit and transportation infrastructure in Baltimore City; and
- Made Maryland a more prosperous and affordable State by developing affordable housing and ensuring equitable economic opportunity.
We are proud to be running together as Team46 as we all work towards building a better Baltimore and hope you will support us once again.

On March 24, I had the opportunity to sit down with the Maryland Transit Administration for their series, The People of the Red Line.
To me, the Red Line is more than a transit project. It’s a matter of justice, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. As the only car-free member of the Maryland General Assembly, representing a city where nearly 30% of residents rely entirely on public transportation, I know firsthand how vital this project is.
In 2011, I founded a political action committee to support the Red Line. Since being elected, I’ve continued to be one of its most vocal champions in the legislature.
This project will create over 10,000 good-paying jobs and generate transformative economic activity for our district and Baltimore.
I remain committed to working alongside Governor Moore and all our partners to ensure the Red Line becomes a reality. Stay tuned for the release of my episode.

My Bill, HB1440, to Support Mothers and Caregivers, unanimously passed the Senate. Now, it goes to Governor Wes Moore to be signed into law!
A few months ago, my constituent Rachel Wagner came to me with a severe issue: Maryland’s courts lacked the necessary accommodations for breastfeeding mothers, forcing them to navigate jury duty and courthouse visits without access to private lactation spaces or necessary childcare considerations.
We took action. HB1440 ensures that circuit courthouses across the state provide private lactation rooms, giving breastfeeding mothers a dignified and comfortable space when they need it. Additionally, the bill allows breastfeeding mothers and caregivers of children under four to be excused from jury duty, recognizing the challenges of balancing childcare with the demands of court service.
No one should be forced to sit through jury duty while worrying about where they can pump or whether they have adequate childcare. This bill is a commonsense step toward making Maryland’s courthouses more accessible and family-friendly.
I look forward to standing with Governor Moore as he signs this vital bill into law!

Running back to floor after dinner break. Ran into press scrum where David Moon, House Democratic Majority Leader, and Jazz Lewis, House Democratic Whip, explain all we accomplished this Session to protect the people of Maryland. Really proud of them. First amendment rights, Immigration protections, budget, and more.
