Congrats to Nora! One of our impressive ACE students!
Severna Park High School’s Nora B. Devine received her high school diploma along with her classmates Monday. She may have at least one more honor in store.
Nora is one of 14 high school students across the state of Maryland and 627 in the nation to be named a semifinalist in the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. She is the lone semifinalist from Anne Arundel County.

Recently, students in Anne Arundel County High Schools (Old Mill, Severn Run and Severna Park), presented their projects that they have been working on since last fall. The project "Carrs Beach Heritage Complex" is part of the future Elktonia-Carr's Beach Heritage Park in Annapolis, MD. The students worked on their designs for 16 weeks and were mentored to engage in design challenges that connect architecture, environmental resilience and cultural heritage at one of the most important African American waterfront site on the Chesapeake Bay. Students are eligible for scholarships and award. They will be announced at Trades Day at AACC on April 24. The team at MKS is passionate about the future of our industry and enjoys giving back to the community through the ACE Mentor Program - Annapolis today on and throughout the year.
This year, we are working with Severna Park High School students to transformation Carr’s Beach, part of the future Elktonia–Carr’s Beach Heritage Park, in Annapolis, Maryland. During this 16-week after-school program, students engage in design challenges that connect architecture, environmental resilience, and cultural heritage at one of the most important African American waterfront sites on the Chesapeake Bay.
They will design spaces, structures, and systems that honor Carr’s Beach’s cultural and musical history, protect and restore its shoreline, and welcome the community back to the water.
It’s an important project that we are proud to be a part of. Stay tuned for updates on our progress.
