Annapolis Opera
Annapolis Opera has provided professionally staged operas and concerts for over 50 years. The Annapolis community supported the company from the outset.
In 1972 a group of artists from the Annapolis Summer Garden Theater Youth Group got together and gave birth to the Annapolis Opera Company. Their search to cast the title role for Gian-Carlo Menotti’s The Medium led them to soprano Martha Wright, an active performer and producer, who turned down the role but instead agreed to produce the opera and more importantly for the future of Annapolis Opera

At the beginning of May, Annapolis Opera had the great opportunity to perform at the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County's Annual Paint the Town Gala!
Our very own Administrative Assistant, Caroline Sykes, accompanied by collaborative pianist Rachel Flicker, wowed the crowd with their fantastic performance!
A huge thank you to ACAAC for inviting us to join you at this amazing event!

Join us in the Paca Garden as Annapolis Opera explores the many expressions of love in Opera! Featuring music by Gluck, Mozart, Verdi, and more, this program moves gracefully between sparkling comic moments and deeply felt lyricism. Through a blend of solos and duets, this musical journey unfolds in a celebration of connection, storytelling, and the joy of voices coming together in song.

THIS SUNDAY, join us for a special Opera Up-Close concert featuring Annapolis Opera favorite, soprano Colleen Daly!
Colleen’s relationship with us spans nearly 20 years, and the program she has curated for this concert reflects her deep history with the company. From starring in roles such as Musetta in "La bohème" and Violetta in "La traviata," to winning our 2007 Vocal Competition, Ms. Daly’s program is shaped by her experiences here at Annapolis Opera.
She will be joined by Artistic and Music Director Craig Kier, who will accompany her on piano.
