Navy Motorsports is the US Naval Academy's Formula SAE team. http://students.sae.org/competitions/formulaseries/

Every academic year the Navy FSAE team designs and builds a formula style racecar and competes at Michigan International Speedway in May against other colleges and universities from around the world. The team is composed of Midshipmen engineering majors from various disciplines such as Mechanical, General, Aeronautical, and Systems Engineering who will go on to serve as officers in the US Navy and Marine Corps following graduation.

"Whats the worst that could happen?" -NR18
With approximately 2 days until competition Navy Racing 2018 found out what the worst thing that could happen really is.

The right front lower control arm hard point failed during braking, ruining the entire right front suspension assembly and destroying the monocoque. With spirits low and competition hopes doused, Navy Racing 2018 embodied true grit and worked through the night to repair the damaged monocoque and restored competition hopes and dreams.

With a successful drive day under our belt less than 24 hours after failure.

Michigan, we are coming for you.

Enjoy the beauty shots.
