Industrial environments do not operate like traditional IT. Power systems, water treatment facilities, manufacturing operations, transportation networks, and other critical infrastructure depend on continuous uptime, safety, and operational resilience.
CyKor’s Industrial Zero Trust approach is designed specifically for these conditions. By applying identity-based access, least privilege, micro-segmentation, and continuous monitoring across Operational Technology environments, CyKor helps organizations strengthen security without compromising the systems operations depend on most.
The result is a more resilient approach to cyber defense that helps reduce risk, contain threats, and support continuity across mission-critical environments.

Last week, CyKor was proud to sponsor the AFCEA San Diego Chapter Tech Talk series, bringing together government, defense, and industry leaders to discuss emerging technologies, mission readiness, and the future of national security innovation.
As a trusted partner supporting the defense and federal community, CyKor is committed to advancing mission-focused technology solutions that strengthen operational effectiveness and foster long-term collaboration across industry and government.
Chris Dougherty, CyKor Client Director and Deputy Sponsorship Chair for AFCEA San Diego, represented our team at the event and highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships that not only drive innovation but also support STEM scholarships for local students and future technology leaders. CyKor team members Richard McGaughey and Brett Davis were also in attendance, helping strengthen connections across the AFCEA San Diego community.
Conversations like these are critical as the defense community continues to navigate cybersecurity, digital transformation, and evolving mission requirements in an increasingly complex environment.
Thank you to AFCEA San Diego and everyone who participated in this important discussion. We’re proud to contribute to initiatives that support both mission success and the next generation of innovators.

This week, CyKor will be in Las Vegas for Cisco Live 2026.
As conversations around AI, cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and automation continue to accelerate, Cisco Live remains a key moment for exploring how organizations are building secure, resilient, and modern infrastructure.
From AI-enabled operations and observability to secure networking and infrastructure modernization, this year’s focus reflects where technology is actively shaping operational outcomes.
At CyKor, these are not future priorities. They are active areas of ex*****on. Whether strengthening cyber resilience, modernizing infrastructure, enabling secure communications, or supporting cloud and virtualization platforms, our focus is on helping customers deploy scalable, secure, mission-ready technology
We are looking forward to connecting with partners, customers, and industry leaders throughout the week and hearing how others are approaching modernization in real-world environments.
CyKor attendees: Bryan Hefner, Danny Sutton, Dave McMahon, Eric G., Jon Stephens, Kimberly Angel, Mike Guadagnini, Mitch Mitchiner, Richard M., Stephon Alicea
With so much momentum around AI, cyber resilience, and infrastructure transformation, where are you seeing the greatest acceleration right now: secure networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure automation, or cloud modernization? Let us know in the comments below. 👇

At Red Hat Summit 2026, one theme stood out: modernization is moving from planning to ex*****on.
Across conversations around AI operationalization, infrastructure modernization, resilience, and OpenShift Virtualization, the focus was on building environments that are more scalable, automated, and repeatable.
For CyKor, many of these discussions aligned closely with priorities we are already seeing across modernization, secure architecture, automation, and hybrid infrastructure efforts.
Michael Burley shares key observations from the week, what stood out most, and where momentum is building across infrastructure modernization and operational readiness.

Modernization is not just a technology challenge. It is an architecture challenge.
As federal agencies navigate hybrid environments, cybersecurity mandates, AI readiness, and evolving mission priorities, successful modernization depends on aligning engineering decisions to operational outcomes from the start.
In his latest article, CyKor CTO Jon Stephens shares why architecture-led modernization, engineering discipline, and mission alignment are critical to building resilient, scalable, mission-ready environments.

After more than a decade at an OEM, Matt McCook was ready for a new challenge. Stepping into a Client Director role at CyKor gave him the opportunity to take on a different kind of challenge while continuing to grow within the federal technology space.
Five months in, that decision has delivered on exactly that. The move into the TSP environment has allowed Matt to engage more closely across customers, partners, and internal teams, helping drive mission-focused outcomes and strengthen relationships across the ecosystem.
One moment that stood out early was CyKor’s SKO. In just two days, Matt had the opportunity to meet every employee across the company. That kind of visibility into a team is rare, and it reinforced the collaborative culture that drives how CyKor operates.
Matt approaches both his work and life with a mindset that keeps him grounded while pushing him forward: “Seek contentment. Flee from complacency.” It is a perspective that shows up in how he supports customers, works alongside partners, and continues to raise the standard for himself and those around him.
That consistency has not gone unnoticed. As Dave McMahon, Director of Sales - USAF, USSF, and Army shared, “Matt is the prototype that we should all strive to be across sales organizations in this industry. The standard of care he provides his customers, our partners, and his colleagues is second to none. Matt is a true leader and champion, and we are an elite TSP because of what he brings to our team.”
Outside of work, Matt enjoys fly fishing and boating, especially after a recent move to the North Georgia Mountains.
Matt brings a steady presence, a high standard, and a commitment to growth that continues to strengthen the CyKor team and the customers we support.
