What a night for ice cream! 🍦

We started with sunshine.

We got cozy, laughed, auctioned desserts, and celebrated a spirit of community through a torrential downpour.

And we ended the evening with a beautiful rainbow. The perfect symbol of hope, positivity, and renewal for an Iowa that works for everyone and the campaign ahead.

A big thank you to Catelin Drey for being an amazing special guest auctioneer - you are a natural! And a huge thank you to everyone who was a part of making my annual ice cream social a smashing success! I am so grateful for your friendships, support, and belief in what is possible.

In the immortal words of Natalie Merchant, "these are days, you'll remember."

Iowa to lay off 200 state workers as it privatizes IT management 06/10/2026

Alternative headline: "On her way out the door, Governor Reynolds screws 200 Iowans out of their future retirement security (IPERS) and continues the failed strategy of privatization while sending millions of Iowans' tax dollars to out-of-state corporations."

This isn't our first rodeo, folks.

College already costs a fortune. Iowa Republicans just made it cost more.

Gov. Reynold just signed a bill requiring University of Iowa students to take mandatory “freedom classes” designed by GOP lawmakers just to graduate.

Nobody asked for them. No student wanted them. But now they’re mandatory for graduation. Sen. Janet Petersen said it best: “I hate to see it.”

So do Iowa families.

Great choice! I'm thrilled to see Dave Muhlbauer for Iowa on the ticket with Rob Sand for Iowa!

Definitely feeling like an Iowa summer out on the doors today! (Glad I snapped a pic as I was getting started!)

Top issue: water quality and nitrates. I heard more about water quality as a top issue in a single day than in any previous election cycle. No joke. It was good to share some details on the Water Quality Act I was proud to cosponsor this year. Iowa has a lot of work to do! (Link in comments)

Wonderful to be with you today, Ankeny 3!
