I finished this little lady up the day before yesterday! While she looks simple in concept, she took forever and gave me one hell of a time *winks in low hanging fruit* (Which is actually quite funny to me because I made myself one of these about 3 years ago and absolutely do not remember it being such a devil *😏*)
But she’s so worth it so I will ultimately be making her in more colors—just definitely not in time for my show like I had so foolishly hoped

These three big bois will be joining me at my show on Tuesday! Assuming my plastic sleeves are delivered in time 🤞🏻
They are 18 x 24” originals done in charcoal. They’re some of my most favorite works so I’ll be sad to see them go if they sell but would be supremely excited to watch them find their forever home(s)!

Here’s a super rough sneak peek of just some of the goodies I’ll be bringing to Uptown Garage Brewing next week on October 14th, from 6-8pm! I will be the solo artist that evening, showing alongside their BINGO night. I still have a TON of behind the scenes loose ends to tie up between now and then but I am SO pumped to get back into my groove after a few years out of “the biz”. Come see me! Even if it’s just for drinks, bingo, or the free candy I’ll be bringing 🥳

HOTH from the past couple days! And idk if you can quite tell from this picture but I have officially made a pattern for *drum roll plz* SELTZER CANS!

So I now have koozies for: 12oz seltzers, 12oz cans/16oz tall boys, and 16oz mason jars (jar included). I have silos on my list next and I might even try to work up a pattern for pint glasses.

I have koozies for pints of ice cream in my sights as well because why the heck not?

Chilling at one of our favorite watering holes for Price is Right this morning!

I’ve come prepared, strapped with two of my 16oz. crochet koozies. One to keep my drink cold and the other to keep my (already cracked into) breakfast warm.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Makena, do your koozie jars fit an entire can of SpaghettiO’s?”
To which I proudly say, “why yes, yes they do!” Followed by “SpaghettiO’s are absolutely an excellent and totally normal breakfast.”

I’ll have many different designs and colors (as well as regular crochet can koozies—12oz./tall boys) and other goodies at an upcoming artist spotlight on October 14th, from 6-8pm, at Uptown Garage Brewing, in Ankeny, IA (they will be holding BINGO during that time as well). It will be just lil ole me selling my wares for the first time in many MANY years. I’m nervous but tremendously excited!

Another quick magazine study. Just the bust/coat area this time. I’m not super focused on getting everything to a “polished level” right now—just trying to get my brain goop out to make way for greener pastures.
