Gene's TOTD: Life is a journey and it's what we make of it each and every day ... Sure we make plans or we have things to do and they get changed because of something else happening or needing to be done ...

Just like we go to bed feeling fine and can wake up not feeling so well ... Things happen as we go through life and we generally work through them ...

Sometimes it is transparent to our daily lives and we just adopt to the change and in other cases it may be that we have to change our lifestyle to make it happen ...

Maybe it's an illness, maybe it's a habit, maybe it's a relationship, do what you can to work through it and realize it's all about your actions if you really need to make a difference ...

Don't give up on yourself, just get started doing what you need to do ... Many that live alone and don't want a relationship with others, may find themselves getting a pet to be their companion, others stricken with health issues may find themselves changing their entire lifestyle to overcome the illness, those with habits they want to break look for support in others to encourage them along the way ...

Every day we find ourselves with these challenges and we can overcome them with the right attitude ... So whatever you are challenged with, take it head on and stay up on top with a positive attitude that you will overcome and beat this no matter what it is ...

Remember you are important to somebody and that somebody loves you and cares about you and only wants the best for you ...

So if you have lost confidence, if you are allowing the issue to overwhelm you, if you feel you are at your last straw, if you see no way out and no way to win ...

Then ask God to intervene in your life as he is only a prayer away at all times, for he has never left your side since you were born, he is just waiting on you to decide when you want him in your life ... Maybe it's time? ...

Shay Roberts had a dream and made it reality ... It only seems like yesterday, but how quick time goes by when you're having fun ...
On August 1st. Of 2023 the Cut-A-Way Hair Salon celebrated 41 years of business at the same location in Angleton.

Sadly, on August 18th., 2023 our shop was flooded by a failed pipe that filled the entire shop with over 5” of water throughout, requiring a total removal of cabinetry and sheetrock throughout the entire shop.

Decisions were made to temporarily relocate while the business could be refurbished and we were blessed when Beth Kaspar accepted Shay into her hair salon, Reflections located at 300 East Hospital Drive in Angleton.

We are so grateful for all of the support from our clients, our past employees and hairstylists, our friends and family and the many blessings God has bestowed upon us over the many years of service to the community.

With some deep thought and we truly believe a sign from above we have decided to stay at Beth’s and sell our building and property.
Shay has not missed a day since the building flooded, but the repairs have taken longer than expected, so we feel our decision is a blessing in itself.

If you have been a part of our past, present or future ... We hope you know as a small family business we are deeply humbled to serve you and will continue to serve you in the future at the new location.
