A huge thank you to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Eta Delta Lambda Chapter in Monroe, Louisiana, for allowing Once Upon a Paper to create the jumbo scholarship presentation checks for your 31st Annual Scholarship Banquet held on May 2, 2026.

It is truly an honor to know that our work gets to be part of events that celebrate achievement, invest in education, and help students pursue their dreams. Seeing these scholarship recipients proudly pose with their checks is exactly why we love what we do!

My heart is so heavy. 💔

I was praying and hoping this tragedy at Surfside Beach wasn’t connected to one of the youth football teams we’ve worked with over the years… but today, after seeing the orange and blue jerseys and confirming with one of the team moms, my heart sank. This sweet boy was one of theirs.

🧡💙🙏🏽 We’ve had the honor of creating banners for the Southwest Broncos for several seasons, and I immediately remembered Joshua’s little face on one of those team banners. 😢

Please keep Joshua Lahai’s parents, loved ones, teammates, coaches, and the entire Southwest Broncos youth football family in your prayers during this unimaginable time. We are continuing to pray for peace, strength, comfort, and a MIRACLE.
