🧪 1. Water is a cleaner.
Pure water has a pH of 7, which is neutral. Sometimes warm water and a microfiber cloth can remove more dirt than a harsh chemical.

🧪 2. Stronger doesn’t always mean better.
People often think a high-pH cleaner will clean everything faster, but using a product that’s too alkaline can damage surfaces, leave residue, and actually attract more dirt.

🧪 3. Most disinfectants work best on a clean surface.
If there’s grease, dirt, or soap scum present, the disinfectant may not properly kill germs. Clean first, disinfect second.

🧪 4. Acid removes minerals. Alkaline removes grease.

* Acidic cleaners (low pH) = hard water stains, rust, mineral buildup.
* Alkaline cleaners (high pH) = grease, oils, food residue.

Using the wrong one often leads to lots of scrubbing for no reason.

🧪 5. Neutral cleaners are underrated.
A neutral pH cleaner is often safest for:

* Hardwood
* Luxury vinyl plank (LVP)
* Natural stone
* Laminate

That’s why many professional cleaners use neutral floor cleaners for maintenance cleaning.

🧪 6. Vinegar is not safe for every surface.
Despite being a popular DIY cleaner, vinegar can damage:

* Natural stone
* Marble
* Travertine
* Granite sealers
* Some hardwood finishes

🧪 7. Bleach doesn’t actually clean dirt.
Bleach disinfects and whitens, but it isn’t a great cleaner. If you spray bleach on a dirty surface, you’re mostly disinfecting the dirt.

🧪 8. Mixing products can cancel them out.
For example, an acidic cleaner followed immediately by an alkaline cleaner can neutralize each other, making both less effective.

🧪 9. Soap scum isn’t just soap.
Soap scum is created when soap combines with minerals in hard water. That’s why an acidic cleaner often works better than a degreaser.

🧪 10. pH matters because surfaces have pH preferences too.
Natural stone likes neutral cleaners. Greasy kitchen cabinets often need alkaline cleaners. Hard water buildup responds best to acids. Matching the cleaner to the soil is what professionals do.

Easy rule to remember:

* 🍋 Low pH (acid) = minerals, rust, hard water
* ⚖️ pH 7 (neutral) = maintenance cleaning
* 🧼 High pH (alkaline) = grease, oils, body oils, kitchen grime

That’s one of the biggest reasons professional cleaners can clean faster we’re not just scrubbing harder, we’re using the right pH for the mess. ✨
