There’s a moment from this school year we can’t stop thinking about.
A student named Ángel was home during a difficult season. His family was fracturing. Nothing felt certain.
During a conversation with his grandmother, Ángel asked to borrow her phone. Not to distract himself from discomfort, but to reach out to someone he trusted to be there: his teacher.
When everything else felt uncertain, he knew she would answer.
That’s what a community of care makes possible.

Thanks to instructors from the municipality, our elementary students got to try different activities during their phys. ed. class. Under the bright sun, they were learning and moving... and had a little bit of silliness mixed in!

A few high school girls stopped by Denise's office when they got home after school, and returned a few minutes later to settle in around the meeting table for a conversation, all while giving Denise a vision of the future El Hogar executive team! Just a normal day, and something more at the same time.

A few students catch their breath during a heated soccer match during recess, the in between moments like this make the game, and the day a little more meaningful.

One, two, three… go!

With each skip a little higher, these small, joyful moments build courage and confidence.

Standing shoulder to shoulder, these young women are growing in knowledge, in confidence, and in the courage to dream beyond what they once imagined.

Behind every smile is hard work, perseverance, and the strength that comes from walking together, offering encouragement, accountability, and reminding one another what they are capable of.

Homework time in the residential program looks a little every day, and it's always more fun if you are wearing a disguise!

Every notebook filled, or math question answered is part of a bigger story of stability, encouragement and belonging.
