Whisker Rescue

11/10 Update--so sorry for the late update. We now know this special kitty is a neutered boy! He saw the vet this morning & received fluids, got his eyes all cleaned up with ointment added. He is less wobbly when he stands. He continues to eat & drink well. Obviously, he is too sick to be vaccinated so we will do that later when he is out of the woods & gains some weight. He got a B12 shot & meds for his diarrhea. He had to have his poop-caked butt shaved. Poor boy. He is such a trooper!
Vet said his teeth look good & figured he is 1-3 yrs old. He only weighs close to 5lbs so he definitely needs to put on a few more pounds. He was too dehydrated to test him for leukemia and FIV so that will be done later, as well. He also got a dose of dewormer. Yuck!

We just rescued this little flame point baby today!
One of our wonderful volunteers got a call from her brother who is a general contractor. His crew was working on a boarded up duplex off of Franklin Avenue and found this starving, dehydrated cat closed inside this dirty cabinet. He/she had this cord tied around its neck. Poor thing! She ran and got him/her right away but it is in horrible shape. She got him home, got him/her comfortable & offered food & water. It ate & drank a little so that's good. He/she is seeing the vet in the morning. Fingers crossed it will be ok.

Meet Alphie! He wasn't as thrilled to meet Santa as Finley was but he got through it. Alphie is a shy boy but if you're patient you will be rewarded. He is such a sweet & mellow boy.
