From the Cooling Rack: I revamped the “healthy substitute” chocolate chip cookies and from the initial taste tests they have rave reviews!

Revamping these recipes has been a fun challenge and I can’t wait to do some more!

From the Cooling Rack: Chocolate Chip Cookies x 2

I have been wanting to try to make healthier versions of the cookies everyone loves. So, today was that day! I made two versions: regular and healthy substitute.

The healthy substitute cookies utilize unsweetened applesauce, honey, maple syrup, whole wheat flour, and dark chocolate chips instead of butter, white sugar, brown sugar, white flour, and semi-sweet chocolate chips.

I was pleasantly surprised by my outcome! The one thing that looks weird is that the cookies didn’t flatten, but the cookies still have great flavor! I will make some tweaks next time but not many!

I had some extra sugar cookies so I thought I would try something different with the frosting. This frosting recipe is definitely a work in progress but I think the flavor is delicious!

I love trying new things and I can’t wait to keep experimenting! Let me know if you have amy ideas!

From the Cooling Rack: Sugar Cookies

First batch of cookies will be shipped out today. I absolutely LOVE this recipe. The cookies turn amazing each time AND taste amazing 😋 Hopefully they will bring as much to those eating them as they do while I make them 🥰

Cookie Tip: make sure you start by whisking your dry ingredients together and mixing the wet ingredients together. Then you can slowly start adding the dry ingredients to the wet. I typically use a measuring cup to gradually add the dry mixture to the wet, so you everything gets incorporated evenly!

I am excited to announce that I have decided to “reopen” From the Cooling Rack. After a hiatus from baking for the last several months, I am excited to get back to cookie making. And I finally decided to, finally, make a page for From the Cooling Rack!

I will be selling made-to-order cookies with the possibility of shipping!

Also, as a personal goal and challenge, I am going to try to make healthier versions of the cookies that everyone knows and loves. I plan on trying to write about my “adventures” attempting to make healthier cookies.
