Weekend Warrior

Continuing the throwback… our fifth year in 2021 was the year our event exploded (in a good way). We sold of tickets and had a waiting list, and realized we needed bigger property as soon as possible.

This year was the first year the was a playable faction, and it was the year both the and rebelled from Olaran. A new Olar king was discovered, and the next chapter of our story began.

This year we also had a lot of rain, which made for some incredible photos from our wonderful photographer .

As we continue to count down to our tenth year, let’s look at some photos from our fourth event.

2020…what a year that was in the world outside our little world! Thankfully we were able to meet, albeit with some extra precautions, and the true joy of being with such a beloved community after such a hard year was beyond price.

It was a big story year as well! Killian was tried, the was founded, and new alliances took shape.

Kits were continuing to be refined, faction lore was gaining depth, and the community was blossoming… the World of Adrasil was growing so much every year!

The countdown to our tenth event continues with another flashback…

2018 was the first year that was in charge of Weekend Warrior as a whole, rather than just as faction leaders of the Sea Lords. It was also the first year that our incredible event photographer was able to come and capture photos of our players!

worked hard in 2018 to improve the game, by increasing the quality standards of kits, as well as deepening the faction lore… a process we continue to this day!

2018 was also the year that we moved the event to the great state of South Carolina, the home of .shop and many of our staff members!

Weekend Warrior X coming Autumn 2026!

This year we will have TWO major immersive events within the word of Adrasil.

In October, the , , , and will battle it out in the north of Olaran, watched over by the guardians of justice and wisdom at .

To the south in the , the , , , and will meet , overseen by representatives from .

Tickets will be available to veterans for both events on May 1, and open to the public for both events on June 15th.

Where will you fight? What factions calls to you? We will see you in the autumn to celebrate a whole decade of our adventure in Adrasil!

Does this cold snap have you yearning for the warmth of friendship, the heat of battle and the humidity of South Carolina?

Then you are in luck! Tickets for our Training Grounds event this Saturday are still open, and it’s going to be a sunny 75! 🌞

The day starts with check-in at 9am, and will last until 5 PM. For just $65, you can come and engage in training workshops, as well as participate in battles! It is a great way to engage in our event world on a smaller scale, and introduce newfriends, or spend time with old friends at a lower price point than our autumn events!

You are welcome to purchase a camp slot for Friday night or Saturday night, but keep in mind that there will be no showers or electricity! Porta potties will be available.

We cannot wait to shake off the winter blues, and reunite with some of our dear friends in battle in just a few days! Hope to see you there!

Tickets are now on sale for our spring events! With a brand new lineup, there is so much to get excited about!

Our March event – Training Grounds - will be a one day event focused on training in the various skills – both warfare and role-play – for use at our larger events.

In April, we are presenting a one day, fully immersive event for the first time! Border Wars will be a streamlined version of our autumn events, and will take place within the larger world of Weekend Warrior universe. This is a perfect event for introducing new players, or for jumping back in as a veteran!

My dear folk of Adrasil,

You will all be returning to our beloved world this weekend! I am sad that I will not be there with you, but thankful for the birth of a healthy baby boy as the reason I will be absent!

You’ve received a lot of emails from me this summer with tips, rules, details, etc. However, these final tips I’m leaving you with before the event this year may just be the most important:
-This is a chance for a (healthy) escape! As much as you can, leave the cell phones off and your troubles behind you.
-Take a moment to look around. Don’t get so busy that you forget to look up at the stars, around you at the campfire, or down the ridge at the epic battle taking place - soak it in!
-Remember, it’s a game made by flawed people! We’re doing our best, but balancing fairness, immersion, playability, and practicality is tough! We will have to flex, change things, and come up with new plans mid-game. Be patient, and enjoy the ride!
-Check in with your emotions. We love that you get lost in our world, but don’t lose yourself! If your attitude is getting too wrapped up in the stakes of the game, take a moment in your tent to relax and remember… it’s a game! A little competition makes everything more fun. Too much competition makes nothing fun.
-It is you, not just your character, that does all the cool things this weekend. Snuck past the enemy to steal a flag? Negotiated for some bloodcoin? Led a song around the campfire? Beat an opponent who was bigger than you? *You* did all those things! The same you that goes to work at an accountant’s desk on Monday morning, or takes a final exam the next week. Bring the courage, sense of fun, and camaraderie into your real world - no need to leave it behind in Adrasil!

Our goal for this game is not so that you get disenchanted with the real world, but that you come to our imaginary world to find courage, friendship, loyalty, and all the other virtues to help you make our real world a better one.

So go have a blast this weekend!
And someone make sure to drink a mead and sing a song for me in the Haybarn.

Which blade would you claim?

Did you know we have a player-run marketplace at Weekend Warrior? It’s true! It’s a wonderful place to gather, trade trinkets, and chat with other factions. Read the rules below and plan to bring your wares!

1. This is a community-created market: none of the sellers are official F&F or WW vendors.

2. Wares must fit in a medium-sized chest, or else be able to be carried on your person (held in hands or in bags you can carry yourself without assistance). Remember, we are an army on the move - so you have to lug around whatever you bring!

3. All items must fit within the rules for in-game items: i.e., they must be approved by a faction leader. All packaging must also fit the in-game aesthetic: i.e., no plastic bags, etc. (unless those plastic bags are completely concealed).

4. All items must fit within the allowed items at the event: i.e., no illegal substances, fireworks, fi****ms, weapons, drugs, etc. Baked goods are allowed, but remember that you are taking full responsibility for consuming any baked goods or other consumables!

5. All furnishings for shop “stalls” (i.e., small sword rack or rug on which to place your chest) or small tables, etc., must be approved by a faction leader.

6. Players must abide by the rules of common decency and avoid cheating or scamming with their trades. While we encourage haggling and making bargains, please keep within the spirit of Weekend Warrior and encourage courtesy and respect for all. You may only trade items you actually own - you cannot make bargains with other people’s goods. Breaking any of these rules will result in immediate dismissal from the marketplace.

7. All trading within the marketplace is for “keeps” - i.e., these items will be yours once traded, and will not be returned to staff after the event.

8. It is possible to trade information, in-game texts, or other such goods. However, the player wishing to trade information must actually have it, be able to trade it, and the buyer must agree to the trade in all good faith.
