Words from Tim Morelock. He will be leading this fun adventure along with his wife Terri Morelock.❤️

I estimate this ride can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours in the saddle. The first half mile there is no real trail. We will be picking our way through knee-high Manzanita and grease brush. Then we will get into the timber with plenty of obstacles to go over or go around. We will have water crossings at hat Creek that will be within the park boundary and outside the park boundary.
I usually pack a lunch and have lunch somewhere alongside the creek or in a meadow.
We have options once we come to the trails we can either proceed up the Pacific crest Trail to the east or we can turn south and get on the Nobles Trail through Hat Valley.
If I had to rate this ride on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being extremely difficult, I would put this at a number five.

Leaving Palo Cedro head east on highway 44, approx 45 milesto Ashpan Sno-park (pass Eskimo summit).TURN RIGHT on Emigrant Road, this is directly across from the snowmobile park entrance. The snowmobile park entrance is on the north side of Highway 44. Immigrant Rd. is on the south side of Highway 44.Proceed on Emigrant Rd. to park spur rd.(32N75Y) approximately 4 miles. Turn right on park spur Road slight uphill incline. Follow markers to parking area.

Horsemastership is an education-based competition that teaches children, young adults, and adults getting involved in horses the proper care and horsemanship. This is a fundamental hands-on learning program that really teaches what horsemanship is all about. Participants have to study from a 22 chapter book, complete a 22 page exam, as well as demonstrate proper riding skills and grooming.

This program shapes future equestrians and keeps our way of life alive. We strive to award substantial items to keep enthusiasm high and the program alive. Our youth contestants go on to the State Finals to compete for a Championship Title and a scholarship to further their education.

We are looking for sponsors for awards that we can give to our competitors for their hard work and dedication. Thank you for your time and consideration, we are very grateful for your support in our future equestrians to keep our coveted lifestyle alive and thriving.

If you have any questions or would like to hear more about our program, don't hesitate to reach out to us or the CSHA Region 18 Horsemastership page!
