Earlier this month, 28 students from the Anderson University School of Physical Therapy Class of 2027 received their white coats in the White Coat Ceremony. This represents their transition between their classroom education and their clinical education. At the end of the ceremony, there was a blessing of the hands as a symbolic gesture, reminding students that their hands should deliver compassionate care.
Starting today, this cohort will complete four 8-week, full-time clinical rotations across the Unites States in a variety of settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation settings, acute care, pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and many other specialized clinicals. During these experiences, they will be working under licensed physical therapists to gain hands-on practice and experience applying classroom knowledge to actual patient care. We are so proud of their hard work and all they have achieved!

Behind every student is someone who never stopped showing up - from lofting beds on move in day to late-night calls on a weeknight. Happy Father’s Day to the dads and father figures who made us who we are!

In honor of Juneteenth, staff and faculty members gathered together yesterday morning for a prayer walk to thank God for our freedoms and petition Him for uncommon unity on our campus and in our country.
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

Anderson University faculty member Dr. Matthew Daniels is helping shape the next generation of citizen leaders through his work on Civil Rights: A Global Perspective, a curriculum that explores the principles of nonviolence, justice, and social change by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Featured in a recent interview with The Center Square, Daniels discusses the importance of civic education and lasting relevance of King's teaching in today's world.
"We are really trying to train up a new generation of citizen leaders," Daniels said.
As chair of Law and Human Rights at The Institute for World Politics and a professor at Anderson University, Daniels also leads the Ambassador Andrew Young Fellowship Program, which brings students and educators together to study and apply principles that helped transform the Civil Rights Movement.
"You cannot go wrong teaching Dr. King," Daniels said. "Dr. King's principles have been validated by history and by social science research."
