Always wanted A Sulcata but don’t want it to grow huge well Sully is your guy! He was raised in Nebraska and we don’t know why he didn’t get bigger than 15 to 20 pounds. He is 16 years old. Update: Bob has been adopted to a great family.
Say hi to Bob. He is an eight year-old Sulcata that is probably 90 to 120 pounds. I certainly can’t lift him. He is a sweet boy and comes when you call him. He is going to need a big full-size yard. For more information on Bob I will only answer a call or text at 530-941-0544. I will also need to see your yard. He will need a doghouse with a Kane heat mat by October. Delivery available 250 mile radius from Anderson for $1.50 a mile.
Shasta is a beautiful 75 year-old Leopard Tortoise. He had one owner who sadly passed away from cancer. He is ready for his next adventure in life. We will be very picky on where he goes. He needs to be with someone who can keep him for the rest of his life. I want to give a big shout out to Don Bouchet our sanctuary manager. He is our behind the scenes guy who is in charge of all of our volunteers, all of our school kids that come and work and all of the happenings at the sanctuary. Don is out there every morning at 6:30 AM checking heat mats and opening tortoise houses then he’s back at 1 o’clock after picking up our Donated food from Orchard Nutrition in Redding. He cleans and fills water, irrigates on days that it’s needed, cleans and feeds all the Tortoises. He also runs our Tortoises to the airport when they need to be shipped. He is our tortoise transport when Tortoises need to be picked up in a 250 mile radius. Then just before bed, Don puts all of the Tortoises locked in their boxes, checking their heat mats again. Don lives at the sanctuary and he is a huge part of the running of the sanctuary I could not do this without him. There are many other things Don does with the Tortoises. He is very valuable to us. Please say hi to him when you come out and thank him for all he does.
