Job Title: 4K Preschool Teacher
Reports To: Child Development Center Director / Assistant Director
Position Type: Full-Time/ 40 hrs. week

Position Summary:
The 4K Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment that supports the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and academic development of four-year-old children. The teacher will follow the Abeka lesson plan which implements age-appropriate lessons, fosters positive relationships with children and families, and models Christian values through daily interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with preschool learning objectives.
• Integrate biblical teachings, prayer, and Christian values into daily classroom activities.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Foster children's growth in language, literacy, math, science, social-emotional skills, and creative expression.
• Observe, assess, and document student progress and communicate regularly with parents.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and learning materials.
• Establish positive classroom management practices that encourage respect, responsibility, and kindness.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and special events.
• Collaborate with preschool staff, church leadership, and families to support student success.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and church-related events as required.
• Follow all church, preschool, DSS licensing, health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred. Will also consider Certificate in Early Childhood.
• Experience teaching preschool-aged children, preferably in a Christian or faith-based setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate instructional practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and families.
• Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and the mission of the church.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
• Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include paid holidays, earned vacation/sick time, and discounts for children enrolled in our program.

It was a beautiful morning to ride for St. Jude! -a-thon

Tomorrow is our annual St. Jude Trike-a-Thon for our 3K & 4K classes. We are honored that we have been able to participate in this fundraiser for over 15 years in helping families with sick children. Please help us in reaching our goal of $1,200. Any amount is appreciated for this wonderful cause!
