New Light Community Center was built in 1900 and became one of only 20 original Rosenwald School's established in Anderson South Carolina.

Today it continues to serve the African American Community as a Senior Center. In 2002, the National Trust added Rosenwald Schools to its 11 Most Endangered Historic Places List.

We're excited to bring you some images of our ongoing renovation. The original stage (pictured below) has been extended to meet the wall on either side, and a railing has been added. We have also added new dimmer switches, and a lot of the painting has been completed. More renovation updates to come soon!
