Some decisions in life are tough.
This is not one of them.
☕ Coffee or 🥐 Bakery?
🎣 Wild-caught salmon or 🫎 Fresh game?
📚 Bookstore or 🎁 Gift shop?
Actually... okay, some of these are pretty tough.
Cast your votes in the comments and let's see where Alaska stands. No judgment. (Unless you skip the Alaska-made chocolate. Then we're going to have questions. 🍫👀

Wanna play tourist this summer? ☀️ This Member Moment Monday is dedicated to the guides who make visitors fall in love with Alaska and remind the rest of us why we never left.
Skip the boring bus-tour energy. Running Fox Tour Co. helps you experience Nome the way a local does, with Gold Rush stories, coastal views, and plenty of fascinating history along the way. Because "I saw it through a windshield" is not exactly a travel highlight. 🦊🌊✨
Want to see Alaska's wildlife without starring in your own survival documentary? Lighthouse Excursions takes you cruising through Ketchikan's stunning waterways past totem poles, a historic lighthouse, and plenty of eagles, seals, sea lions, and maybe even whales if they're feeling social. 🦅🐋🚤
Touch grass... professionally. 🌲✨ Natural Connections blends mental health therapy with the healing power of Southeast Alaska's great outdoors, offering counseling, group adventures, and meaningful connection in nature. Turns out "go outside" hits differently when it's backed by a trained therapist.
Private tour, local guide, zero “everyone back on the bus in 7 minutes” energy. Blueberry Tours serves up Southcentral Alaska’s glaciers, wildlife, coastal views, and hidden gems at your pace, with stories from someone who actually knows the place. 🫐🏔️🚐

🦸 Some heroes are still getting dropped off at practice.
Across Alaska, young people are making a real difference in their communities. They're organizing fundraisers, helping neighbors, volunteering their time, and stepping up when they see a need.
That's why Alaska Communications created the Summer of Heroes program: to recognize youth ages 6-18 who are making Alaska a better place, not for the recognition, but because they care.
Selected heroes will receive a $2,000 education scholarship through and be recognized in their local community.
Know a young hero who deserves the spotlight?
✨ Nominate them by June 14, 2026 through the links in the bio!
“Local places never have anything.”
Famous last words before the online order shows up late, wrong, and wildly disappointing. 😬

Farmer’s market season is officially entering the chat, and we are ready for fresh veggies, handmade goods, local treats, and running into everyone we know before 10 a.m.
Now we need to know: which Alaska market vendor are you most excited to see again this season?
Tag them in the comments so we can all collectively plan our snack, produce, flower, art, soap, jam, jewelry, coffee, and “I wasn’t going to buy anything but here we are” budgets accordingly.
Shop local first. Market season waits for no one.
A little BuyAlaska throwback from the 90s, when the fonts were bold, the ads were iconic, and shopping local was still the assignment.
No Wi-Fi. No Instagram. No “add to cart.” Just Alaska businesses, community pride, and probably a fax machine working overtime.
The vibes have changed. The mission has not.
Shop local first. Buy Alaska.
When it’s almost tourist season and your regulars have already added your shop to their family’s Alaska itinerary. 💃🕺
There is no hype team quite like a loyal local customer with relatives coming up from the Lower 48.
This summer, let’s make it easier for visitors to find the Alaska businesses locals already know and love. If you own an Alaska-based business, get listed in the BuyAlaska Business Directory so tourists, locals, cousins, aunties, and that one friend who “might move here someday” can find you first.
Your regulars are already doing the word-of-mouth work. BuyAlaska can help back them up.

May I buy that local? Why yes, yes you may. 💙
This month’s BuyAlaska challenge is simple: before you buy, ask yourself, “Can I get this from an Alaska-owned business?”
Coffee? Local. Gifts? Local. Lunch? Local. That oddly specific thing you suddenly need? Honestly, check local first. You may be surprised.
Your dollars can do big things when they stay close to home.
