FISH is an Anchorage Mayor's Charity Ball, Inc. recipient for 2026! We are busy planning for the MCB auction with some incredible donations coming in from The Alaska Railroad, Alaska Sausage and Seafood, local artists, and more to be thanked in future posts.
We are in need of many items to include the auction. If you have an item, a service, an experience, a gift card, artwork... to donate to FISH to support our MCB auction items needed please email [email protected] or contact a FISH board member.

FISH had a very nice summer surprise from Carrs Muldoon! FISH was selected as their "Nourishing Neighbors" recipient in conjunction with their new remodel. This significant donation supports nearly two months of operations allowing us to deliver food to 500 food-insecure families in Anchorage during that time. As costs continue to rise and the need increases we are fortunate to have community support to nourish our neighbors. Thank you Carrs!

This Saturday is the USPS Stamp Out Hunger Day! This is one of the easiest ways to support food-insecure families across Anchorage - simply set a bag or box of non-perishable items (i.e. canned goods and unopened boxed items) next to your mail box and postal carriers collect to distribute to local organizations to distribute to families in need. FISH is blessed to partner with the Lake Otis USPS to stock our shelves at a time of year when donations are low. Recycling Event | Habitat Join Habitat Anchorage at our annual Earth Day recycling event! Several local eco-friendly vendors will join us at the ReStore so you can safely recycle items that are hard to dispose of. Stay tuned for updates about our fantastic partners and fun activities!

FISH is a 100% volunteer organization with a small board overseeing all operations. Thanks to Alaska Public Media for a great story on our leader Raissa, her dedication to FISH for more than 20 years, and a glimpse into FISH operations and how we get food to 80 families per week.

FISH is thrilled to be a recipient for the Anchorage Mayor's Charity Ball next fall, a huge event that will go a long way in helping us meet the needs of food-insecure families in Anchorage for 2027. FISH gives a HUGE thanks to ConocoPhillips Alaska for a community grant for 2026 Stock the Shelves drive! The need to support food-insecure families in Anchorage continues to grow, as does the cost of goods. This generous support covers 10% of our annual budget for 2026 so we can continue to deliver a week's worth of healthy food to 80 families each week. Thank you!
