We Alaskans tend to over utilize our front yards. If you are like me and would prefer just making your driveway way bigger, it is a quick, easy, aesthetically pleasing, and cost effective fix. Winter is around the corner, and the great shuffle of RV’s, machine trailers, and boats is a couple weeks away. It is time to make it right!

After clearing a quarter acre of trees and stumps for lawn installation, it appeared as though I cracked the bell housing on our JD110TLB. If you don’t know what a bell housing is don’t worry, neither did I. I am a decent mechanic, but this project was massive and certainly stretched my skills. It took me around 100 hours in my backyard. After parts and fluids it was around a $7k repair — less than half of what Deere quoted, if they did it or had the time. I guess “figuring things out” is the Alaskan way of entrepreneurship? Thank you to all of you who came by to lend a hand, even the four legged furry types! We are off and rolling for spring and summer projects!
