Seven Kuskokwim River communities are one step closer to the same affordable, high-speed broadband available in Anchorage and Fairbanks.

For families in Upper Kalskag, Lower Kalskag, Tuluksak, Akiak, Akiachak, Kwethluk and Napakiak, that means better access to telehealth, education, local business growth and staying connected to loved ones.

Through the Alaska FiberOptic Project, we’re working alongside Calista Corporation, Doyon, Limited, Gana-A'Yoo, Limited and Tanana Chiefs Conference to help close the digital divide bringing fiber directly to homes, schools and clinics, with no equipment costs and reduced pricing for essential services.

This work is being shaped by local voices, with community input guiding how we build responsibly.

ACS team members Roger, David, Melody and Alexys recently traveled to each village with Calista staff to answer questions and share status updates.

In Seward, Lola Swanson created a dance program that’s become a place for kids to belong, grow and express themselves. From classes to performances to scholarships, she’s opening doors for others every step of the way.

Her impact is just getting started. We're so impressed that we designed our 2025 Summer of Heroes logo in her likeness!

Heroes Live Here: Sometimes, it looks like quiet care that changes everything.

Ella Boerger brings comfort where it’s needed most. She's cuddling premature infants at a local hospital a to serving meals for Anchorage families and supporting youth in remote villages. Her impact is steady, thoughtful, and deeply felt.

We’re proud to provide a handful of Alaska 529 scholarships each year through our Summer of Heroes program.

Summer of Heroes is a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, who show us mentorship and relationships matter.

Now through June 14, for every new home internet sign up, we'll make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters Alaska to support their work.
