On Monday June 15, we were joined by Anaheim Fire & Rescue to learn about APRU. Why does the Advanced Provider Response Unit (APRU) exist? Due to the growing demand on 911 and emergency departments frequent users often have unmet medical behavioral health, or social needs, Traditional EMS is not designed for that long-term follow up. APRU helps bridge that gap.
The APRU is a Fire Captain/Paramedic and Nurse practitioner team with a mobile integrated health care model which provides field-based medical care and follow up. The main focus is on prevention, recovery, and resource connection.
APRU benefits Anaheim by keeping emergency resources available for true emergencies and reducing unnecessary ambulance transportation. It also connects residents to appropriate care and improves the quality of life and public safety.
How can the community help? Learn overdose recognition and Narcan use and support treatment and recovery efforts. Promote community awareness and partner with APRU to identify the needs.

This past Monday Daniel Warren joined us from Farmers Insurance. Why has California insurance been so chaotic? Well, if you had attended, you may have gotten an answer. International Center for Law and Economics shows that the average claim delay was 293 days between 2020 and 2022.
This is why Personal Lines Insurance is essential to provide insurance products designed for individuals and families and cover personal property and liability.
Thank you, Daniel, for giving us a comprehensive look at our personal insurance.

On Monday June 15, 2026, Captain Aldecoa will present on Anaheim Fire & Rescue's most recent program, the Advanced Provider Response Unit (APRU). (APRU) is a Mobile Integrated Health program developed by Anaheim Fire & Rescue that goes beyond the traditional 911 response. The APRU pairs a highly trained Nurse Practitioner with Anaheim Fire paramedics to follow up after critical incidents such as overdoses, behavioral health crises, and other calls where additional support may be needed after emergency crews leave the scene.
