"I can't breathe but it doesn't matter, because I have to get in there somehow." - Deputy Barry Barnett
Rarely do you find a person who so selflessly values the life of a stranger over their own. Lucky for all of us, Lancaster County Sheriff Nebraska is filled with these men and women.

Exactly 11 months ago, our alma mater's New Venture Competition gave us the chance of a lifetime to facilitate data-driven conversations that build trust and strengthen partnerships between the community and the police.
We’re officially back to where it all began, and once again, we need your help Nebraska!
Starting today, if you interact with a UNL Police Officer, you’ll receive a CRG survey card. In less than three minutes your anonymous feedback will help the UNL PD provide an elite service to yourself and others.
Please help spread the word of our mission on UNL’s campus and visit www.conciseresearchgroup.com to learn more!

One big thing we’ve learned about law enforcement: people don’t enter the profession because they expect to be thanked for their sacrifices. If they did, they wouldn’t last a day. For most, it’s an innate desire to protect and serve their fellow man that gets them out of bed.
Another big thing we’ve learned about law enforcement: it’s made up of human beings with real emotions. Though they’ll never admit it publicly, when we only highlight the negative, it takes a toll.
It doesn’t take much to get an officer through a hard week. A simple hand shake can go a long a way, but appreciation shouldn't be limited to a single day. The next time you see an officer or a deputy, please tell them their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

We were first introduced to the Lancaster County Sheriff Nebraska in July 2016. The conversation was focused on our mutual interest in building trust, strengthening partnerships, and promoting constructive dialogues with the people of Lancaster County.
After six months of additional research, 15 ride-alongs, and a community policing conversation hosted at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, we are pleased to announce that CRG has officially launched its first partnership in our home state!
Via these CRG survey cards, we are asking anyone who interacts with an LSO patrol deputy in the coming months to share his or her unique story. It typically takes less than three minutes to answer the questions and your anonymity is guaranteed at all times.

"It bothers me to see parents in public using the police as a scare tactic for their children. I've heard parents saying things like, "If you don't behave, that officer is going to take you to jail!" This is not acceptable & it teaches our youth to fear the police instead of welcoming them."
