FIBRE

Last month marked 1 yr since I went full time with FIBRE. In Nov, I went radio silent apart from a few posts & gigs. The tour for FIBRE & work for Montaime reached a fever pitch. The payoff was incredible, but it came with sooo much exhaustion. I was working 16hr days. I ate like trash. I slept 4 hours a night if lucky. But, I was living the dream that so many would beg for. I felt lucky. I wanted to dedicate my life to music since 12 y/o. My perspective was that I couldn’t make mistakes, ever. I’d be letting down my partner, my family & most painfully, myself. I sacrificed myself to the grind, and operated off of the mostly guilt, shame & adrenaline. Of course, it eventually all came crashing down... lmao.

After forcing myself to take a beyond overdue break, I was frozen & couldn’t do anything at ALL. But I constantly filmed footage on tour. I kept coming up with fun ideas. I HAD a lot to share. But there was someone on my shoulders always yelling STOP!!! Those insecurities wrapped in comfort, fueled by the fear of expectation, stopped trying because social media was disposable anyways, and my art probably was too.

It became evident I couldn’t go on this way. I finally asked myself, what does Alex, the person need? I know they were always there... their existence however was hijacked by FIBRE, the bombastic, larger than life, unstoppable artistic force & label owner with seemingly infinite energy.

I am here now and I haven’t given up yet. I’m thankful for everyone every step of the way. Today I’m sharing photos not from my shows, but what happened in between those gigs. Some of these are days I’ll forever remember. Days I spent with my friends & family, though I wished I was more in the moment. Some days were slow & grueling, others breezed by in what felt like minutes. 

I’m not an influencer and I never will be. But I am an artist, with a new album in the works, surprise ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡ I’m going through a lot of confusing & bewildering life changes. But I’m excited to poke at all of this with curiosity.
