Today for my birthday, Amy took me to Disneyland where I constructed my own lightsaber, an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

I met Maurice on Sunday, 12/28/2025 when he came forward after service to follow Jesus. We met and prayed a lot because the next couple of weeks would be significant. He trusted Jesus on Sunday, 12/28/2025, was married on Friday, 1/2/2026, and today, Sunday 1/11/2026, I had the honor of baptizing him!!! God is good! He’s already flourishing—asking how he can volunteer and help 🙌🙌👏👏👏

Yesterday, we moved Joel into the Hope International University dorms. He has 2 great roommates—all 3 are ministry majors at Pacific Christian College of HIU! I’m beyond proud of my son… excited to see how he will grow and what he will learn during this new season! 🙏🙏🙌👆

In the 8+ years I’ve been friends with Ricky Jenkins, he’s only become more passionate about loving God, loving people, and sharing Jesus. This weekend, he preached an incredible sermon at Shepherd Church and he did so after learning that his dad went to be with the Lord! Grateful for you, Ricky, and standing with you in prayer this week. Love ya.

21 years 💍 We took this photo in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus chose love over comfort, surrender over self, and faithfulness over escape.

That kind of love reminds me of Amy… For 21 years, she’s walked with me through joy and sorrow, laughter and tears. She’s said yes to loving me and the kids, even when life was challenging. She’s believed the best about me, even when I was a moron. She’s prayed for me/with me through dark nights of the soul and celebrated countless joys with me.

I don’t deserve her, but by God’s grace, I get to love her each day, all over again…. So, here’s to many more years of choosing love, together. ❤️
