Disneyland came together in just over a year, and it still feels like an almost impossible feat.
Construction began in July 1954, and by July 1955, the park was welcoming guests. Crews worked nonstop to bring Walt Disney’s vision to life, building an entire themed world at a pace that’s hard to imagine today.
Now, projects can take years just to reach the foundation stage. What they accomplished in that short time truly changed theme park history.

It may be Red Cup Day at Starbucks, but not in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort. The location is one of 65 Starbucks locations closed due to a strike by baristas.
The two Starbucks locations inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are not operated by Starbucks, and are not part of the strike. However, those locations do not have the red cup.
