Happy everyone! Here is Rebecca Linick, an environmental engineering student. “I study this because environmental engineers get to solve important problems that help everyone and because our work is very interdisciplinary, so I always get to learn something new! When I was lucky enough to study abroad in Argentina, I got to learn about environmental issues there and I got to explore unique natural landmarks, like the glaciers in the south.”

Happy everyone! Today we’re getting an inside look on the First Year engineering little seminar. First year academic advisor Devin Kiska and peer advisor Aimee Sam (ChemE) taught our young engineers the ins and outs of class enrollment, including how to use the enrollment system and the class schedule generator! Getting to meet with your academic advisor and an upperclassman peer advisor is a great way to get a first-hand perspective on life at SSOE!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!! Today we are featuring Pablo Salazar, a junior ChemE. Pablo came from Guatemala when he was 8 years old. “I will never forget my childhood living in Guatemala. I have lots of memories of our colorful traditions. From the music to the food, I still cherish every memory to this day. My pride in where I am from is part of the reason why I work hard as an engineer so that I can make my family proud in who I grow up to be.”🇬🇹 💙
