Visited one of my larger projects last week that was recently completed after a couple of years of construction largely by volunteers and friends from the church. Due to ever-increasing complexities of codes and zoning requirements, this was likely my last project of this scale.

I was called back to a local church project for which I designed a comprehensive renovation 30 years ago. The property sustained siginificant damage when a tornado struck two years ago. A second renovation is set for 2026.

My annual first job of the new year is to put away the plywood yard carolers I crafted way back before my bride and I were parents. Our kids are both in their 30s now, so these cutouts are approaching 40 years old.
